"We are saving people's lives" I felt that SO STRONGLY, that's what our management team says in every meeting and to downplay complaints about lack of communication and highly delayed salaries. They basically say "We don't care about your peasant problems, such as your ability to live and pay your bills, THINK OF ALL THE LIVES WE ARE SAVING!!"

Startups in New York City aren’t any better. Take #popshop for example. They fired their VP of business development who drove $2M in sales and was responsible for their VC funding and fired her because she wasn’t a good “culture fit” when a discrimination case arose against the startup who had 8 white male jewish employees they started to hire women quickly to cover their trails. I’m making a film on this entrepreneur you can email me if you are interested in learning more about the works of Adam Neumann , Trump and many others

I love this guy. People I want to hang out with... I totally understood that and that's not what we are here to do kind of idea. Very professional as everyone Should Be. I am on this video over trying to pinpoint why Silicone Valley seems to have a consistent fraud theme. It's really strange.

the whole silicon valley startup cult. always repulsed me from the get go. i never quite understood why or could pin point. i thought i was jealous of their success, but once i looked into some of the people in those startups, i realized i was not mistaken. it seems they are all narcissistic in their endeavors. i now dislike their sense of moral superiority over issues. it is good many are failing, because the word startup just lost its meaning and could bring it back.

This guy talks about lots of "young white people," and based on my experience, he has no idea what he's talking about. I know about this shit, so strap in. This will be long. To give my comments context, I worked at MySpace from 2005-2008, freelanced in LA Tech for 3 years, and then Lynda.com for 5 years. The last year there was after the LinkedIn acquisition. I was one of the first 35 people at MySpace. There were a good number of white people, some young, but there was also a mix of men and women. We got quarterly bonuses, had a small space, and it was okay. When FOX bought the company, the first thing to go was our quarterly bonuses. Tom Anderson, who is not a tech genius at all, had a fair amount of power. Schmoozers constantly had his ear, and had him making horrible mistakes, such as MySpace Astrology and MySpace Books. The reason why MySpace sold to FOX for $580 million was because they allowed social engineers and others with ill-intent run automation on the site. It was against TOS, and they knew it was happening, but they did nothing about it. Some attackers could run automation that would create 300 new accounts in under one minute. This generated the illusion of popularity. It was so bad that we were changing how servers were made and shipped. 1,000,000 accounts fit on one server, or federation. We were adding a new server every three days. Every time a new feature would come up, they'd go on a hiring frenzy. The company had 35 people, and my team had two people. Near the end, the company had thousands of people, and my team had over 75 people. After they'd introduce a new feature, they would ignore complaints. Their philosophy was: 1) The users are idiots, 2) Nobody cares about broken existing features, and 3) We need more new features. The person responsible for this "feature fatigue," initials SP, told Yahoo News that he did not know how this happened. He was the one who made it happen. We had moved into a new Beverly Hills office with extra space. That space was gone within 3 months due to hiring frenzies. People were taking jobs, not doing their jobs, and instead were climbing to new positions. Then they'd not fulfill that role and climb again. Some people from Symantec were hired, and they started hiring friends exclusively. This ultimately lead to a culture war between old-school MySpacers and Symantic hires. It got ugly. At the end of July 2008, they let go 5% of the workforce. I knew about this two days before it happened, thanks to Yahoo News. The people who were canned were targeted, by being given poor performance reviews based on nonsense, and then fired for poor performance. My crime was using tech lingo, such as "the server is tipped over," which I heard from Admins. This resulted in a 3-page write-up that was read to me as if I was a grade schooler. I was also denied a $5,000 referral bonus, which I earned as part of their referral program. My referral would end up staying there 7 years after my departure. As for lynda, it was great until they sold to LinkedIn for $1.5 billion. They generated this PC culture, where they really refrained from hiring white people. They had lots of "IN" groups, to represent gay/lesbians, blacks, other non-whites, and military, among others. When I realized that I was not represented by any group, I became concerned. In late March 2016, they downsized a great portion of the Tech team. What everyone had in common was that they were over 40 years old and were not in management. I contacted a lawyer about it, and he said there was nothing I could do about it. This was after they posted a pie chart on LinkedIn, bragging about how the average age of their Tech sector was 29 years old. After almost 12 years working in these types of industries, with all of my experience, I have become unemployable. My experience does not matter. In fact, experience can harm you. On top of my Asperger's getting in the way of my employment in this industry, I am white, I am male, I am straight, and I am over 50. All of these things will work against you. In a world where you get three strikes and you are out, I step to the plate with FIVE strikes. To the young people who are working in this industry now, I would highly encourage you to make a backup plan, because you will need it. The bad news for me is that I was labeled as "old" when I was 50, and was discarded. The bad news for YOU is that this will happen to you before you are 40. The hard truth is that, as an adult, you get maybe one decade where you are young and desirable. After that, you potentially have a handful of decades where you will spend your time being "old" and worthless. They want young people, not only because they're high energy, but also because they are less experience, and are more likely to believe the lies that get sold. If you work really hard, and never give up, then your hard work will be rewarded. I worked really hard and never gave up, since 1978. At worst, I got no credit for my work and was discarded. Best case, I got the salary that I signed up for, with no bonus, recognition, advancement, or anything. I was the kind of person who would forsake friends and fun, so that I could work. I put in 16 hour days, 6 days per week. I sincerely believed that hard work and persistence would pay off. Now that I can no longer believe the lie, and that I have seen the man behind the curtain, nobody wants me around. Millennials beware, for there is already talk of Generation Z, as well as getting high school interns as young as 14 to work for almost nothing. I do not use any social networking. I know how sausage is made. I know what happens in the background. I know what they do to you and your information. Social networking exploits your need for fitting in, as well as your need for bigger, convenient Dopamine rushes. Don't buy the bullshit. LinkedIn is an utter lie, because NOBODY has 500+ contacts who are close, and who care about anything. LinkedIn even gave us training on how to use their products, with a "Pimp Your Profile" seminar that included information on "how to work your contacts." I followed their advice. Nobody wrote back, except for one person, who admitted that he did not remember who I was, even though I worked for him for two years and helped him file millions of dollars worth of commercial real estate contracts. _"I'm sorry, but it's just not ringing a bell."_

Thanks for the detailed information. 🙏 I think I sort of understood this without even experiencing it, thanks to my very own BS detector. And yes, people who try too hard to show that they are NOT something often times ARE that thing. Especially in the tech world. The only reason laywo/men get bamboozled is because they lack the ability to read between the lines (communication skills) or analyse what they are being told (critical thinking skills). Ironically and incidentally, both skills used to be taught in tertiary education pre-2010s. Nowadays, they aren't.
