I have the same cage on my sport with the chopped top and had to do the same relocate of the top shelf. Been running it for several months with a 30" spare on it and have had no issues at all, love it.

I’m gonna give y’all an idea for better use of the top rack and roof of your SXS Maverick Sport, I built my roof out of 1/32 steel sheet metal which is strong enough for me ( 230 pounds) to up on plus someone else. Now what I think you should do is build your one but after you go all the way to the back come back forward about 4-6” and add a hinge with another piece of sheet metal that will fit the rear rack and lock down which will help keep your camera gear and other things drier in the rear. Sounds heavy but I’ve never had a problem with my Commander or my Rhino which both have 6” of lift. On my 06 660 Rhino I was at HighLifter’s Mud Nationals at MudCreek in Texas and was riding the main rd with 3 in my cab and 3 more people on the roof which were playing football 🏈 with a Polaris Ranger in front of us plus I had a 48qt cooler full in the bed

Do they make one of those cages for wildcat Trail? I was looking for a storage box, but that rack would be more suitable.
