Checkin' out that new physics based action RPG video game by the name of Exanima. Exanima (Early Access) store.steampowered.com/app/362... Connect with me! / jerma985 / jerma985 / 183539835053496 www.steamcommunity.com/groups/...
This is pretty realistic, actually. I mean think about it, if you take a bunch of average, untrained shmucks and toss 'em in an arena with weapons, this is kind of the way they would fight. "How does swing sword? Like this? Yeah, that's good enough."
pikamario99 haha, I always forget how heavy some of these weapons would be in real life. If it were me, I would probably swing once really hard, lose my grip, put a hole in the drywall, fall down, and cry.
Iraklis Pazios oh yeah you want to talk realism huh? listen here cheeto veins, i bet you 10 yen (i bet you're a fan of anime i'm trying to pander to you) that if u walked up to a big bad monster with a big ol weapon you wouldnt be swinging the sword like fuckin he-man in dark souls you'd be wiggling around like the drunk characters in exanima i speak from personal experience, family reunions get a bit out of hand at times
Old video and doubt most people here care, but animation fidelity has improved significantly since then. The combat system is very fun and engaging if you're willing to give it a chance because it's pretty free-form with all the control you have over swings and momentum. For example, you can influence the force, angle, direction, and speed of your swings with the orientation and speed of your mouse cursor. You can do some cool stuff like, if you have a polearm, you can try to wedge it in the back of someone's leg then pull back to try and trip them, if you get a large hammer and your character is tall, fat, and muscular, you can throw people all over the place with high force swings and bulldoze over them by running into them. Combat system is complex and nuanced. Not for everyone of course but it definitely has its merits, and IMO is one of the most fun combat systems I've experienced in a video game.
@Bearcat nope, just a previous fan of it. Fell out of favor with it a while ago due to the update schedule being awful and the "inner circle" community for this game being ultra toxic
John Woodland I have played this game for a couple of hours and have watched both a review and a 2 hour live stream of it, and this is the stupidest footage I've seen of it. Jerma must have a magical power that makes everything silly.
Well yeah, he made a really fat character and didn't learn how to play.. it's another fine example of a massive RU-vid douche-bag making a gaming video as an attempt at humor and not to actually say anything about the game. Shame really it's just miss-informed idiots miss-informing idiots.
Jimmy De'Souza It's been developed from the ground up. It's not like any other ARPG. The engine is extremely optimized for performance and the combat is really rewarding once you learn how to play. It's not some half done game with loads of bugs and they have done this with the slightest of funding in comparison to the pieces of shit *cough* reign of kings *cough* that are on early access.
Wow..... the whole video built me up to tears, at 2 minutes though it really picked up when you were talking about the "halloween costume" and when you walked up to the guy asking for directions and he hit you I just lost it.... Well done again Jerma!
Played this game. Hard at the beginning, but once you've died a couple o' times and memorized all the weapon/armor locations and learned to block and bodyblock, it gets easier. But then comes another problem with it. It's too long and boring. Half the time you're gonna just run around in search of a way out. Developers promised they'll make an open world version of it, so gotta wait. And yeah, running straight at the sword before it was swung is a legitimate strategy.
The kill at 3:47 was amazing XD I'm glad you enjoyed the game. It's one of my all-time favourites if you get past the controls' steep learning curve. The quickstart guide and combat arena are super helpful for instructions and practice if you ever want to go back to it.
Jerma, I just want to say, that I don't usually watch videos for games that I have no interest in. But for some amazing reason every game you play is instantly funnier and enjoyable. Keep up the good work dude :D
this game pretty much kept me from going insane through a particularly cruddy summer genuine 10/10 it's so well done and just... the right kind of lonely
Every time Jerma goes about a week without uploading something, it's always something very nice at the end of the wait. 6 days, no video. Next video is a 5+ minute skit. I'm calling it right now
Bought this game after seeing this video and once you get the hand of the controls, it's GREAT, already sunk in 6 hours in the arena and I've barely touched the actual story! Can't wait for what lies ahead for this game
The undead some times aren't immediately hostile if you just stand still or move slowly. Some actions may aggravate them like looking at them directly, fast movement, switching weapons, going into combat stance etc.
