Thanks for all your work on Excalidraw and Excalibrain! I like you how you show us under the hood, taking time to teach important things -- even when you know it will likely not have that mass appeal/clickability. I'll need to watch this one a couple times because Obsidian and Excalidraw/Excalibrain is my long-term solution -- or if it isn't somehow, I've got the portability/future-proofing you mentioned.

Thx again for your great work, Zsolt! The "flipside-drawing"-thing is since I stumbled upon one of the most used features... it's that useful! And it's always a pleasure to watch your information-packed videos (several times for that reason 😜) and always learn something new and useful!

Thank you Zsolt for introducing this "Flipping the note" approach to us. This has been a key feature into my academic workflow. However there are some issues that I think you should know about: 1. I use zotero-integration plugin to transport all of my zotero annotations to obsidian notes. The zotero-integration plugin uses a template to create an obsidian note with the extracted information. So, I converted the template file into excalidraw file with excalidraw-open-md: true in the properties. So when I create a new note using that template, everything works well, but after a while (maybe after 15 minutes or so) after I update the note using the integration plugin, while flipping the note over to the drawing side, I consistently ran into the problem of losing my drawings. Even the json file on the text side of the excalidraw file was shortened, but the embedded files and text elements section remain intact. 2. Another thing I wanted to ask you is how to embed a portion of one excalidraw drawing into another excalidraw drawing directly with link to that particular portion. Thank you Zsolt for everything.

1. I don't use Zotero myself, thus am not sure what the plugin might be doing in the background. Are you synchronizing between devices? Can you create an issue on GitHub and share a damaged file so I can take a look? 2. embed portion of the drawing to another is not implemented (yet). You can deconstruct your drawing and embed the deconstructed part to multiple drawings.

Pretty cool release, thanks Zsolt!. The only feature I'm still hoping for is Photoshop like layers, or like an overview of your grouped elements, and name those groups, etc. My current workaround is to create an Excalidraw document per layer, reference that layer in a new drawing, and draw on top of it. Very unintuitive to have to be laying like that

yes, layers would be nice. Technically this could be achieved with frames as well, as well, the data structure of Excalidraw does support layering, it's just not implemented.

It says in the release notes Wrapable text elements (without the need for transparent sticky notes!), but I can't seem to get this to work. How do I do it?

Hi, zsolt, I think your plug-in is very useful, but I use it on obsidian. After downloading the scripts, I don’t know how to delete them.

Simply delete the script file (and the file next to it with the same filename and ".svg" extension) from the Excalidraw/Scripts/Downloaded folder.

Your perception of stroke width will depends on zoom level. Default widths are optimized for 100%. To get a thinner line you might want to try the fine tip pen from custom pens (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OjNhjaH2KjI.html) Additionally you can install the "Set stroke width of selected elements" script to change the stroke width.
