How low are you actually hitting on the cue ball each time as you are fine tuning the power of each shot?

Niels, Howdy; Hope you are doing well. I guess you could also do something like this to work on the Follow stroke as well, eh?

Great drill Niels! I do a similar drill where I use two balls on along the rail to create a small zone to draw even with or into and work my way back to getting that long draw shot consistent. Sometimes I do feel it's important to switch it up though. For instance, once I've completed working on the draw increasing it in length, I will change it up and have the cue ball 4 or 5 feet from the object ball and try and hit shorter draw strokes from distance. It definitely makes for a good challenge lol. Thank you once again for sharing your knowledge!

When you vary draw length on shots like in this video, do you stay at consistent low spot on cue ball and vary the power of the stroke or do you keep stroke power the same and move strike point on the cue ball for less draw and lower it for more draw.? Or I suppose there is an option where you do both?

Good drill, but I have a question regarding tip position on the cue ball. Are you hitting the same place on the cue ball each time and varying your speed or do you adjust the position you hit the cue ball also?
@Nunak91
@Nunak91 2 года назад
I believe he hit the same spot on cueball all the time, as he said at the begging instead of stun he used draw and soft speed to achieve stop ball.

Hi Neils, quick question, 1. Is it ok to add a tiny elevation on the cue instead of 100% parallel with the table? Thanks. 2. Would twisting the wrist help generate more backspin? 3. For a long draw shot, do you hold your cue longer? If so, would that affect the contact point on the cue ball? Thank you!

You didn't use Predator cloth? LOL. I played in the Michigan CSI Predator Open and never missed and/or seen misses so much in my life. I'm not a Pro by any means. It was on my bucket list to play with the Pro's. The squirt and slide of the cloth got all of us. I've never played on cloth like that before. We really didn't get much time to practice on them either. That's what separates Pro's from us wannabe's. I had the best time and would love to donate my money again just for the experience. Great video as always.

Hi Terminator. Thanks for this. I will be working on this. One problem with my draw shot is that often I launch the cue ball into the air. Can you comment on how to avoid this?? Thanks.
@ianfrancisledesma4431
@ianfrancisledesma4431 2 года назад
Keep the cue as Level as possible.dont try to get too low on the cue ball, the longer the draw..the harder you have to hit it.
@seamusfurlong9201
@seamusfurlong9201 2 года назад
Your scooping the white usually happens when your striking to low with the white Practice half a tip below centre and concentrate on the timing and follow through of the cue you will surprise yourself how far you can draw it back with a clean stroke Make sure your bridge hand not to close to cue ball and your cue is as parallel to the table as possible

neils how do i practice as a beginner? what are the drills to do everyday?
@geoff1827
@geoff1827 2 года назад
I would say one of the most helpful things as a beginner is to practice doing straight on stop-shots at different distances and at different speeds. The softer you hit the cue ball, the lower on the ball you need to hit to get it to stop. This also helps with hitting the cue ball straight and without unwanted side-spin.
