- Spot Shots as a warm up and stroke building drill
- Spot Shots with zone training (super fun and challenging!)
- Spot Shots back into the kitchen with the cue ball and try to make a run.
All these drills will give you a great challenge and if you work on this, you will create your own improvements. 😀 💪
Remember, magic pills don't exist. Only great effort brings up your game

I like the 2nd drill at 6:30 for my level and it kind of kills 3 birds with one stone. 1) its Bert Kinister's shot #3 for his shot making workout and it lets me practice 1 of his 7 shots. 2) I like to use this as a warm up to practice my mechanics and make sure I am consistent on my pre-shot every time. 3) I've never heard of playing 4 rails before so thats a way of knowing what I am doing with the cue ball during practice so it can be applied to a match later on. Great stuff! Thanks a lot.

Thanks as usual Niels. The 8-ball and 9-ball often ends up in this spot so it's a super common shot.

Incredible channel. I would love to watch/hear your perspective on adjusting to table conditions. I played the US Open 9 Ball this year and found new cloth Diamond tables a totally different animal from my home table. Top spin on a rail widening like running English, and inside English wouldn't bite the rail (I literally finished at the opposite end of the table from my desired position). I would love to hear a top professionals perspective "home table vs tournament tables" adjustments required.

Great suggestion! I have made this video about new cloth vs old cloth last time I got a new cloth on my own table. ⚡😎 Have a look right here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w4YHMV4hs8I.html

When watching videos like this where we are shown where he hits the cueball I always wonder why we aren't shown where he's aiming on the object ball. I don't know about anyone else but it would be very helpful to me. 😁

@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen Thanks for trying to help Niels. However, I'm probably unteachable! Your shots on the green ball were confusing to me as I couldn't work out if you were referring to the deflection of the cueball caused by the side you put on it or the deflection/spin/throw the CB then imparted to the object ball. As you say, I'll just have to go and play the shot and see what happens and hopefully find the adjustment I need. Meanwhile, where did I put those alzheimer tablets? And the headache pills?😂

Thanks so much! I like this drill. Can you please recommend an essential drill for a beginner? I'd like to repeat the drill every day to learn full ball shots, half ball shots etc. And also I have stickers I would like to place on the table so everyday the drill is accurate and repetitive

I'm just a dabbler in pool, so I wouldn't even call myself an amateur yet, but this drill really gave me a lot of insight into what I really need to work on specially on my tip position. I cant seem to hit the centre of the ball consistently. In my case I seem to aim better on the striped balls however, I have no clue why :P Thx a lot for all you instruction in these videos Niels! and I love how pure you are, and not afraid of showing the odd mistake as well. Keep up the good work!

This is a half ball hit also from the middle diamond. It's also extremely useful in one pocket when your opponent has balls by his hole or in it or even moving object balls to your side from his after you pocket a ball , your drawing that so easily and I so jealous lol , thank you

Great drill. I’ve been playing less lately and doing different drills like these. What size pockets you playing here. I’m going to re felt soon and shim down to 4.25. I too playing a Kamui Brown Soft. It started off too spinny but now after 100 hours of play it’s compressed and hardened up. Cheers

Thanks for this and all the great videos you put out. I notice you seem to prefer an open bridge, do you think having an open bridge helps you aim better vs. a closed bridge with your pointer finger wrapped over the top?

my spot shot is unreliable. I can do it but the longer they are the harder they are for me. I am a female player and I love to play as much as possible. I don't have my own table, if i did i could try to set up shots and do them before I forget. I have to rely on memory when I get to a table. Your the best.

I find it frustrating that I can nail the first drill, keeping the cueball off the foot rail, 8/10 times. But I can't seem to master the power draw drill bringing the cueball back into the kitchen. Given the distance, it seems to be pretty much the same stroke, and it feels like the same stroke when I'm successful.
@jeremyparris6121
@jeremyparris6121 Год назад
Going back and watching the power draw video again, I noticed a couple things. It does look like the same stroke, but in the power draw vid, it looks like the draw mostly takes AFTER it hits the long rail. I've been trying to time it where it draws into the rail, so I'll go back and try it with a bit more speed and see how it goes.
@jeremyparris6121
@jeremyparris6121 Год назад
By the way, I've used that first spot shot, keeping the cue in the kitchen, to win quite a few racks and matches. I think I picked that one up from your training session vid with Alex Lely and thought it had a lot of potential, especially in 9-ball. Big thanks again for all the techniques and shots you've shared. I look forward to every vid you post and have learned a LOT.

Jesus, I thought I was good, but I didn't even know this kind of precision was possible. It's that awkward moment where you think you're incredible, but quickly find out you're nowhere near a decent player. Lol
