I thought exchanging broken Craftsman tools covered under their lifetime warranty may be confusing now that Craftsman Tool Centers have closed. So, I try. Take a look for yourself. #craftsman #craftsmantools #tools
Went to ace today to exchange 4 rachets. One of them was from 1971. Other 3 from the 90s era. They told me the model numbers have changed with the new owners and wouldnt exchange any of my old rachets. Took the same ones to lowes exchanged all of them no problems. They didnt even ask for my id.
Hey man, I know this is an older video, but I’m trying to figure out what kind of damage level is acceptable for a return? If the finish is worn and/or maybe a little rusty? Or was your socket fully stripped?
I had a Completely different experience they wanted a receipt and because i purchased it from sears there gave me a number to call and they told me they also dont warranty tools sold in sets..I think it all depends on the associate thats helping you at the time.
My only problem with this is that the new socket is an imported tool with questionable metallurgy compared to the potentially USA made original tool you brought in. They're making an effort to go back to making some of their wrenches, sockets and other hand tools here in the US but I suspect they'll give them different part numbers than the less expensive imported equivalents. At this point I'm holding my broken US made Craftsman tools when possible to exchange for new US made tools once their new factory here in the states is producing tools.
@@kenfrank2730 New factory in Fort Worth, TX will "manufacture a wide range of Craftsman mechanics hand tools, including sockets, ratchets, wrenches, and general sets"
They shouldn't take your ID for that the log that and if you do so many returns without a receipt you can get banned from returning things at Lowe's. Just took back 3 broken sockets today no ID needed.
Well I wish I lived where you did because I just went to my local Lowe's here in Grand Rapids Michigan try to return to 3/8 drive ratchet and they told me basically piss off call this 1-800 number or triple 8 number or whatever it was was on there for a half an hour pressing buttons this and that and they.
Yes. I finding through the comments that it's hit or miss and that is what I was ultimately wanting to find out. Now that Craftman stores are gone, customer service at the POS has sharply declined.
If they give you any flack over exact part numbers etc then call the number the Lowes rep should be able to give you. The Craftsman rep in the phone was very helpful and I actually got a better ratchet than what was broken. Good luck.
Tried doing this with Craftsman water went to Lowe's and they said they said call Craftsman they told me it have to be approved it taken 3 weeks to be approved they told me to be eight more weeks for a refund
