Here is the first seedling update for 2024!! It has been almost 4 weeks since we started some of these seeds and most of them are growing really well. We have a few failures and slow goer's but it's been a great start to the 2024 garden year :)

Hi. Found your channel yesterday by YT recommending your “seed to harvest “ video. I have been bingeing your videos. I am new to gardening and it’s nice to find Canadian content. I am in Toronto zone 6. I am growing on north east facing balcony so i learning what works or doesn’t. I love your garden and all the things you’re able to grow in such a short growing season. Looking forward to following your 2024 journey

Hello, so glad you found me :) I always love finding the Canadian content too, not as many of us up here. Great you are taking on the challenge of gardening with your balcony. I find it really is just a lot of trial and error to see what works best. Thank you for following the journey, it's going to be an epic garden this year!

Hi, I am glad that RU-vid suggested this video to me. I always get excited when I see a gardening RU-vid channel from Canada. There seems to be only a few of them. I am in zone 6 next to Toronto. I've been growing veggies and berries for over 40 years in my backyard, in a city. This year, I am growing onions and peppers from seeds for the first time. This year, I have also bought my very first two heat pads. They worked very well for the pepper seed germination and I'll be using them again to help with my tomato seed germination.

Hello :) There aren't as many of us up here, it's great when we can find each other. You must have a lovely backyard, berries are one of my favourite things to grow! I did find my heat mat helped my peppers too. When they sprout well they turn into really hardy plants from my experience. I may have to get a second one too, I always seem to need to start at least a couple of trays. It's really starting to feel like spring out there. I just did a quick search for Toronto and it looks like you have a similar last frost date as me (mine is May 14), I would have thought it was earlier. But your falls are nicer, we always seem to get a damaging frost in September.

Looks like you are off to a good start. Taking a break from potting up marigolds and peppers. Have a good day! Stay Well!!!
