I wonder this cutie could ever have imagined (back in his hey-days, ie. his 1988-1990 era especially, when he looked his best: boyish, youthful, exuberant, full-of-charm, every teenager's dreamboy) what it would be like to be paired opposite the present-day divas or heroines like Sonakshi, Deepika, Anushka.... because despite their success, they just don't have it in them to match the innocent, youthful radiance of Aamir in those days. Case in point: QSQT, Dil, Love Love Love, Deewana Mujhsa Nahin, Awwal Number.

I think it’s bc the male beauty ideal in Bollywood has changed, as well as the female. SRK and Aamir Khan, also arguably Salman Khan, all have these feminine, charming faces and effeminate personalities, especially so Aamir. They entered Bollywood when it revolutionized itself into a new romantic genre, where the cast had to look very ideal and desirable, not just some macho action stars anymore. If you look at the female heroines in their movies, Kajol, Juhi, and even Pooja Bhatt, they had this ideal, unreachable beauty standard look, but they were all princesses who had to be saved by the hero prince. They looked and were written like muses. Today, I think, they look more average, still good looking but average, and the women also are given a stronger personality now, that’s why it would be challenging to pair up some independent, Diva heroine with someone who has young DiCaprio personality, but it would be fun to see no doubt. Give it a solid, good idea and write it as a money-making movie project (as QSQT and DDLJ were) and we will see this pattern returning in no time.
