The Mission: To save a stripped out and forgotten D-Day Airplane from the Scrapyard and get her flying for the 75th anniversary of D-Day (June 6th, 2019).
The Timeframe: We have only 6 months to get the DC-3 flying.
The Reason: This airplane is only a handful left in the world that actually flew on D-Day. We are getting her flying in the memory of people who lost their lives that day, June 6th, 1944.
The Cost: Everything we have.

Bell is also testing quiet stealth technology...they turn the rotors really really slow..as evidenced by Mikey's filming.

What a great helicopter. Sadly, a Bell 525 prototype crashed back in July 2016 killing both test pilots 😕

Very cool their maintenance crew is a bunch of rock stars and super good people. Last year they took over the hanger i work in to do high altitude test. I'm glad you got to see it. Keep up the good work and keep on being awesome

Thanks Mikey! Another great one - fantastic to see the new Bell 525 doing cold-weather testing. That is one sweet looking aircraft - I bet it's as nice to fly as it is to look at. Darn, you get all the fun of meeting the great folks there for the project. Thanks to Bell for graciously allowing Plane Savers worldwide to have a peek. I can guarantee one thing: I've lived and worked in and around Yellowknife, and I've lived and worked some in Texas too. I guarantee you that the Bell guys will never see Texas quite the same way after weeks of enjoying the Yellowknife winter.

HA! I worked on the 525 project in its infancy procuring sheet metal assemblies and complex long lead time parts. We had no idea when it was going to fly then. And now, it's flying and doing well, and even made it up to your parts!

You're right, it was another great episode except I don't think we heard "Plane Savers" anywhere in this episode. What I like about your channel is the scope is so wide, I've learned to expect anything to do with aviation. The variety is tremendous. So when a camera gets blown over by an aircraft I guess we can call that a "video enhancement". I would also call Stella a video enhancement!

Literally a week before you started plane savers, I binged watched all of Ice Pilots since its now on amazon prime, and finally got to see the last few seasons that never aired in the USA.
