EXCLUSIVE BRAND-NEW Montreal Fire Service Tower Ladder 4022

Tuesday, December 8, 2020, the Montreal Fire Service has placed one of their new tower ladder into service : a 2020 Pierce Arrow XT 6700 (100 'Ascendant mid-mount). Tower Ladder 4022 is assigned to the Station 22 located on Antonio-Dagenais Street in the borough of Saint-Léonard. The old Tower Ladder 4022 was the oldest unit still in regular service on the Island of Montreal.
Mardi 8 décembre 2020, le Service de sécurité Incendie de Montréal a mis en service une de leur nouvelle échelle aérienne avec nacelle : une Pierce Arrow XT 6700 (100' Ascendant mid-mount) de 2020. L'échelle aérienne avec nacelle 4022 est assignée à la Caserne 22 situé sur la rue Antonio-Dagenais dans l'arrondissement de Saint-Léonard. L'ancienne échelle à panier 4022 était la plus vieille unité encore en service régulier sur l'Île de Montréal.

Are you serious? I had no clue we were getting these as tower ladders! All these years I have wanted Pierce and we are getting not only engines but tower ladders too? Amazing

Yup 5 Pierce 100ft mid mount platforms. 4 in regular service and 1 spare. 4008 4022 4063 4076 4080

@@firefighter215 I thought these were the same as the 720s for a second though. Im not familiar with the 4000s. Whats the difference between the 700s and 4000s?

@@AJDeere 700s are articulating platforms Vs the 4000s are straight stick platforms ( basically a ladder with a bucket on the end).

@@firefighter215 Ahhh. Theres not many 4000s so I guess they don't get used as much? I wonder when they will replace the 700s too.

@@AJDeere you'll start to see them more now. There's only 2 700s in regular service and I've heard they had lots of problems over the last few years. Honestly in my opinion I don't see SIM buying 4 again. Don't know if they'll buy any again. Of anything Maybe 1 or 2 700s. They were built in 2012 so 15-20 years of service brings us to 2027-2032 if they wait that long to get rid of them lol

You'll probably see them around more now. Station 76 in Westmount has one now also so closer to home 😉 4008,4022,4063,4076 & 1 spare 4080

Wish Toronto Fire would get a couple of these. Tired of the same old Smeal/Spartan rigs that look exactly the same from 15 years ago. Toronto needs a couple of Towers in their fleet. They have mostly ladders although they do have an order for a 70m E-One Bronto and a 40m Bronto.
