because HE IS, 4x MVP, should've been 6 if not for media votes in 1989 because he was #1 statistically and the 70s way of giving it in the first conference instead of the last which incidentally he was also #1, arnaiz was #2 by year's end and co #3, could play all positions, talked trash and backed it up, he will always be the GREATEST even if I disliked him when he was playing he was so good

I really enjoyed this episode. My father was a super die-hard Toyota fan, and he loved those guys, specially Arnaiz and Jawo. It was very nostalgic hearing the stories, though O wasn’t born yet during their world cup experience. I am more of the 90s era of a fan.

The difference of our 1973 team as compared today is 1 year the final 12 (1973) was already in One house and been practiving and competing as a team. Today the final 12 man will be chosen 1 day before the tournament😢. Big big difference.

Toyota the team with a lot of superstar players. Arnaiz is very soft spoken at mahiyain yun pala madaldal din pero sya ang pinaka pogi sa lahat ng players noon. At matatatas palang mag tagalog inglesero ito dati.

2 of my childhood heroes as a diehard Toyota Comets/Tamaraw fan. I remember watching those games they were talking about on tv specially the infamous brawl against Mexico can't believe it was 50 years ago ayayay, anyways good luck to this year's team let support them with all our hearts at the same time be respectful and a good host!

Arnaiz was a good shooter, his jump shot form was perfect. I saw him play when I was growing up in Sampaloc with the Bagatsings. Shooting in a junior size ring is not easy even the level of competition was not great.

Pinapanood ko sila mula noon pa. Hindi nila nabanggit yong rumble noon championship game between Korea. Si shin Dong Pa noon ang star player ng South Korea. Kahit noong pagkatapos ng world cup na nasa Toyota at ang iba nasa karibal na Crispa team na yong iba ay pinapanood namin kahit black and white pa noon ang mga TV. Bogs Adornado, Abet Guidaben, Jaworski, Atoy Co, etc ilan lamang sa mga pinakasikat noong araw.

Meron na noon pa mas malala pa sa Europe ng 70s 10 players ay naturalized, sa Asya noon hindi popular yung practice nayan kasi magastos sa Pinas naman dahil sa Pride pero dahil napahiya yung National Team ng Pinas noong 1978 Fiba World Championship na ginanap dito( tanging team na Winless) kaya pagpasok ng 80s nung binuo yung 1st batch ng NCC ( Yung Northen Consolidated Cement) meron silang 8 Naturalized Players at 2 Home Grown na Local Star Player at 2 Fil-Ams para daw mas mag-Compete Internationaly pero hindi pumatok sa mga Tao noon kaya 3 Naturalized na lang ( Engellend,Still at Moore) na-injured yata noon si Engellend kaya hindi naisama sa Line-up nung huling mag-champion sa FIBA Asia Championship ang Pinas kung nagkataon 3 Naturalized players meron sa Team NCC-Pilipinas.

@@darylesantos-xd7cihindi pa ganoon kasikat ang Basketball noon yung mga Middle-east Countries Hindi pa nga marunong maglaro ng basketball noon, ang Tanging mga Bansa sa Asya noon na malakas maliban sa Pinas ay China ,Sokor at Japan etong mga bansang ito ang madalas mag-Champion noon kahit pa yang mga Legends nayan ay nahihirapan sa mga Bansang ito actually ma-swerte pa nga ang mga Legends nayan nung hindi na sila naglalaro o nagrepresent dahil bawal pa ang Pro noon ehh doon naman yung Rise ng China sa Basketbal sa Asya nung wala pang PBA ang karibal lang ng Pinas sa Asya ay Japan at Sokor kaya nga ang huling taon na champion sa FIBA Asia (1986)ang Pinas ay may 3 Naturalized player ang Pinas para magawang mag-champion uli mula noon Hindi na uli nag-Champion kahit nga sa Asian Games Basketball huling medal ay Bronze noon pang 1998 Asian Games Huling nag-Gold sa Asian Games Basketball ang Pinas sy way back 1962 Asian Games pa.
