The standard RS is 300-301BHP, its 305PS. A remap is not just a remap. It will only do what its told. It's an OEM approved modification, so its always going to play on the safe side of things, hence the upgraded components to make things that bit safer.
@esurfer26 The scope of this project is cost effectivness rather than overall power figures. Like VBH says it's the same package as the RS500 exept 6.5K cheaper.
She's getting the numbers wrong.. There are 500 of Focus RS500 (101 were made for the UK, so it's not entirely wrong). And a normal Focus RS MKII is originally producing 305 BHP, not 301.
@mean71cuda They didn't make it AWD because it would be VERY heavy. And more expensive, and use more gas and as it is it's already a heavy hatch and uses more than expected gas. But like she said, this car can handle the power.
@AdrianC12345 its @ 3250 right now so add another 100lbs AND THATS PUSHING IT and it would still be lighter then the EVO and STI those beasts are 3400-3450ish.. plus its nose heavy so a adding the drive shaft and rear would make it a near perfect 50/50..............
No they haven't, if you do your research both manufacturers have been developing the hubs for FWD cars for ages. Well before the Megane and Focus were invented. Ignore the trolls on the tinterweb that spread BS.
Ahh its just an OEM thing, a little different when you don't have to totally ensure reliability... Also bare in mind that there is alot of future proofing / warranty built into the hardware supplied in the MP350 kit, with the fuelling etc... To be honest the standard RS needs the larger intercooler anyway...
this has defo convinced me . I've got a vxr nurburgring . its a good car but im after a few gadgets and a bit more poke . i think they are a bit expensive though at 20k+
Well im not sure with the RS, but i have a leon cupra 20vt, and i have a basic revo stage 1 remap, which is just a remap and forge recyrc valve power is 220bhp over standard 180bhp, so i dont see why the RS would need all that to gain 40bhp
What's with the music? :( Sometimes you can barely hear Vicky thanks to it. Also it is funny that she mentions the engine sound, of course we can't hear it due the horrible music.
Ford NEVER copied Renaultsport with the revo knuckle. Ford developed revoknuckle before Renaultsport but was originally intended for high torque diesel engined front wheel drive vehicles to prevent torque steer and accelerated tyre wear. They then used it a few years after on the mk2 Focus RS.
@japster1358 "why dont they use their AWD tech they use in the WRC? " That is like saying why don't manufacturers put put F1 engines in all their cars? Everything is about $.
@HondaFife Nice opinion you have there, thank you for sharing it. I am sure that all people who drive a Honda (assuming from your username that you may drive that brand) are PhD or equivalent.
yea but its still a grocery getter.. i meant like most platforms that are available in FWD and AWD they normally reserve the AWD for higher HP and higher TQ and better handling.. which is what THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE WITH THE RS.. but yet again Ford has afound a new way to piss me off....
@esurfer26 What video you fool, you dont know what youre talking about, you said ford made a RS2000 escort cosworth with sierra RS500 cosworth 4x4 system. 1. Ford made an escort RS2000 and an escort RS cosworth, they were'nt the same car. 2. There wasn't a sierra RS500 cosworth 4x4, it was 2WD, the only production sierra cosworth 4x4 was the sapphire. This is all correct as far as i know, someone correct me if im wrong
Thats got to have been the slowest test drive ever of the Mountune RS - someone should tell her the accelerator is the pedal on the right !!!!!!!!! not the one in the middle - waste of time for what is a great car/upgrade - can they find someone who can drive please ??
Pumaspeed are a joke! They actually tried to convince RS Owners to buy a Inlet Plenum after suggesting that the Inlet Plenum on the Focus RS MK2 is from a 1800/2000cc Focus. Now, how can that be when the RS Motor is a 5 cylinder and the inlet on the 1800/2000cc are 4 cylinders? I wouldn't spend £20 at Pumaspeed let alone a couple grand!
If you had the choice between here and the car it might be a struggle 🤔 if you met her and she had that car let's be honest; you'd be the happiest guy on earth 😂
@HondaFife You make me laugh mate. You actually judge people by what they drive and yet your username is 'Hondafife'? I think everyone can admit that Honda Type Rs are bigger Chav motors than the RS's now day. Not every Chav can afford 30k to buy a Focus RS. Act your age and stop judging. I have the Mk1 Focus RS running a GT28 Turbo and 330bhp. I have 2 Music Degrees and work for one of London's Biggest Theaters as a Sound Engineer. Not all of us Ford drivers are thick like you have suggested.
