I bought Kill List on DVD by chance in a supermarket and now consider it one of my favourite movies. Looking forward to seeing Happy new year, Colin Burstead.

I like the unanswered questions in his work: ?What happened in Kiev? (Kill List) ?How bullied was he at school? (Sightseers) ?Why were the gangsters in jail? (Down Terrace) Like Wheatley says in the interview, these questions are not important to the unfolding action, and as in the case of LOST, it is sometimes better not to know. Also love his hard ass leading ladies in all three movies listed above. Big future for this director.

Ben Wheatley's films are fresh in today's glossy mediocrity, and 'Kill List' will be known as a cult classic in the future, no question.

Sinister and satanic horrormovie, scary and philosophical, deep and nightmarish. Loved it, superb craftmansship, combining the best from thriller and horror. Well done. Will there be a follow up?

If you think about it, Free Fire was something like Transformers because when the action starts you can´t see shit of what´s happening, so...

I know others have brought this obvious comparison up before in other comment sections, but I couldn't help but see glaring similarities to A Serbian Film, especially in the ending of course. But to those who have yet to see either Kill List would be much easier to recommend and probably a much more enjoyable film .

The film wasn't perfect but its hard not to be impressed by a flick willing to go completely batshit insane. Yes there are plot holes and yes it oversells certain elements, but that isn't the point. Like Mulholland Drive the elaborate theories on the plot aren't the appeal, its the movie's ability to put you in a place where you have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next. Definitely looking forward to what Wheatley is doing next.

Maybe you should look a little bit deeper into WHY we have no sympathy for the main character. I'm carrying out a research report on the Kill List and that forms the main bulk about my argument. Personally I think Wheatley intended for us to be unsympathetic towards Jay in order to comment on morality. I too thought of David Lynch when I watched the Kill List and I think they're both similar directors who manipulate narrative form in order to put a certain message across... i won't go on forever

enjoyable and some chilling moments, like fiona making a symbol on the mirror, but overall a bit pedestrian in the pacing, and there were some real leaps required of the audience at times.

I didn't really get it, literally every side character was in the cult? And their goal was to get Jay to kill his own kid? WHY? That would take so much coordination, it's almost too "in your face". Also, was the mother in the cult? Why was she laughing at the end?
@pdmore123

Basically jay was the chosen one and he didn’t know it. But i know what you mean. The restaurant scene with the christians on the other table made me wonder are they in on it too?
@paulbirkbeck1790

Jay was the antichrist and his girlfriend laughing at the end was the irony of it all it was forshadowed in the beginning of the film as they played with foam swords

Generational Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) is something Ben knows about. You can't write a movie like this without intimate knowledge and his old man was a successful novelist writing about dark occult stories the like so which can only written about with deep experience. All entertainment A-listers SRA is all they know. Kids are indoctrinated from an early age. Many are gender inverted. Another good one on RU-vid for free is a short movie by The Stranglers - Norfolk Coast by their bass player JJ Burnel. Again, can only be semi-autobiographical.

I swear this is one of the messiest plots I've ever seen in any film!!... And that end is indecipherable. I mean, who the hell is the client? How is he related with what happens in the end? There's not a single thread suggesting it. Why would he threaten his 2 contract killers for not wanting to finish the job, and then send them to a suicide job mission, where the job is left unfinished? It's like the final 25 minutes are totally disconnected from the rest of the film, which was already a big mess🤦‍♂️🤯🤯

How are the women cliched? I found this film to be a niche gem among the mediocrity of the horror genre, the characters came across as real and as for "the hard men dull" what were you expecting exactly? Pulp Fiction style banter? I found your comment to be void of any worthy characters. My idea of a nightmare is reading another of your film "reviews"
