Great interview from one of the few thinking footballers. Will buy his second book. Brian "Choccy" McClair must be a great story too. I worked with his dad (Charlie) but he kept his own counsel and rarely told stuff out of school. He did parade his new white Rover when Brian signed for Man Utd.

In my heid son is one of the best books written by a football player. Great read. Pat is one football's good guys. I saw hearts out 7 past a team with pat in it.

Went to school with Pat, I remember him training over at Easthall school with his dad a lot.

Pat, to say "it wasn't on the radar" is absolute nonsense. We may not have used the word "paedophile" but we knew who the weirdos were. Glasgow Amateurs used Hillpark Secondary school as their base. They had at least one 'weirdo' we called "Ronnie the poof" because of his strange attraction to boys. Not going into detail, but all of us knew he was dodgy. The team were prestigious so many boys put up with his weirdness. But don't pretend no one knew there were predators in the coaching staff at teams, young boys aren't stupid.
