I think its all a facade. None of the contestants in the single inferno date outside in all seasons. The contestants are just focused on giving us a good show. I think its just us who take everything they do seriously. But most of them are there to build their brand image. Some if not most are media personality so a netflix shows really works to their advantage. You can tell Gwan Hee is being pretentious, like trying to look fun and/or popular to gain more screentime. Gyuri too. I dont thinks shez genuinely interested in any of the male contestants. So do the other contestants. Jinseok though looks genuine but we cant really tell anything at this point. I apologize in advance for the long comment.

I know this show is one of the less-genuine ones, in terms of why people want to be on it, but this season has felt especially disingenuous-which would be disappointing but ultimately still fun if the personalities were still a good time. Some of them certainly are (Jin-seok being the poster boy), but none of them, man or woman, gets a chance to breath when Gwan-hee is around sucking up all the oxygen. And, whether he is being real or being performative, he’s just repugnant. I don’t like Ha-jeong, but I can enjoy her being a shameless pot-stirrer playing up for the camera. I can’t even enjoy disliking Gwan-hee. I know he’s all anyone talks about, but the show spends all its time on him, so there’s nothing else to discuss. We can try to blame the rest of the cast for not being interesting enough, but I can’t say they are or not because all we see is him. And if this really is scripted and unserious, why go with the reddest red flag as the big prize? Even the hosts think he’s a piece of work-and they put a good spin on just about anything.
