What is the optimal trajectory? Have you ever thought about it before?
What if I were to tell you we have years of data that prove what the best intention is at the plate?
In today's lesson, we will go over the most important hitting stat, Balls Batted Into Play.
This will show us how successful we are based on the trajectories we hit the ball.
The three main ones: Lifted balls, Line Drives and Ground Balls.
Which one should you be trying to hit every single time the bat leaves your shoulder?
We go over all of this in this one lesson!
Thanks for watching and I hope to help you much more with your game in the future!

My son (15U AAA) started following this and his batting average jumped to 0.429 (2022) from 0.250 (2021) this year with less strikeouts and less flyouts.

Why do you release the bat with one hand on every swing?

It's usually a personal preference. Some finish the swing with 1 hand some with 2.

Why do you hit the tee every time you swing?? Isn't that simulating hitting the bottom of the ball thus creating pop ups 🤔

This is the most insane thing I have ever heard. The misinformation in this video is insane I hope no one listens to this video. If you hit a ground ball every time your babip (batting average on balls in play) would not be .400 you would be the luckiest player to ever play if that was the case. Not to mention the shifts they would do if you hit a ground ball that often. Hitting groundballs is not what is going to get you to the league its going to get you cut because you need to hit for power in today's game. The chances of two or three guys getting a hit in an inning to score a run off a guy throwing 95+ is very unlikely and isn't a logical approach. Why try and get those singles stringed together in an inning when you could be trying to hit doubles and homeruns which equates to more runs which means more wins for your team. You can't hit for power when you hit the ball into the ground and that is not what is going to get you to the next level and I think its criminal that you use your platform to teach this nonsense.

You're dead-on here about the ground balls, they're outs at the highest rate at every level, with the exception of pop-ups. "sharp hard ground balls", as he's claiming, actually have a positive launch angle, i.e. they leave that bat above horizontal before 1- or maybe 2- hopping to the outfield... they don't get spiked down at negative-10 to negative-15 degrees as he illustrates. That said, he IS correct about line drives (i.e. 10- to 25-degree balls) having the BABIP.
