+Tommy Gun I guess the only solution is for you to mute the video while blasting your brains out with the Star Wars theme instead. I'm afraid that the voices I do is part of who I am.
I really like rebel ships because they look so unpolished and incomplete but imperial ships are imposing and look extremely powerful and like peak sci fi warship
Diplex: *Has 2000000 credits* Me: "Hope he puts that to good use." Diplex: *Buys 4 ISDs and 10 TIEs* Rebels: *Buys 30 ships* Me: "You gotta be shittin' me."
I LOVE YOUR VOICE! You should do more Imperial/Republic voice overs,.. you sound so official. Are your Scottish, French, or New Foundlander? Sounds amazing.
skipray blastboats were originally designed for the empire by skipray corporation, but the empire never put them into use due to the lack of maneuverability. the zann consortium used them as torpedo bombers, and the rebels used them after the fall of the consortioum.
had this mod for a while now and im glad you are finally doing it I CAN CONFIRM THIS WORKS FOR THE REMASTERED COLLECTION BUT YOU HAVE TO USE THE CLASSIC
Referencing your comment about the rebel maybe being a big fleet in this battle, due to the number of capital ships employed in this battle, it would have been one of their most important battles, just because of the resources committed here, and the empire can afford to lose 4 star destroyers when the Rebs can't affords to lose a single cruiser
Hey Diplex you can perform camera lock close up on the smaller ships. This will give you 1 person view of the action. Don't remember the key shortcut, play the tutorial it will be explained there.
Look at those Point Defense Laser Cannons and L1C4 Turbolasers go to work. That thing is 19 klicks long! There were 3 of these things built. The Annihilator, the Ravager, and the Executor.
Actually the Skipray Blastboatwas a Hutt Cartel/Zann Consortium bomber just slightly larger than a Y-Wing. which was significantly smaller than the Falcon. Still, this was a pretty awesome battle.
actually, for those who are interested in the lore of the time he's in, the Hoth Period was more of a "Neutral" period. Not neutral as in peaceful however, but more of a "Each side was as strong as the other" way. The rebel alliance, up until the destruction of the first death star, had always chosen to keep their fleets small and off planet, choosing to keep their assets moving instead of landing on a single planetary base. This allowed them to gather resources and man power, while minimizing their casualties and losses. However, after the first death star was destroyed more planets joined in with the rebellion, offering them weapons, soldiers, and ships to fight off the better trained, better equipped empire. With their new found support they decided that they could hold a series of secret bases if need be, so they set up on Hoth. Unfortunately, the empire knows how to handle one thing..... full on assaults on well defended keeps. Needless to say, despite their new found support, the rebels were not yet prepared for full on planetary warfare, and took to the skys.
I wouldn't mind seeing this setup again, but instead, have only the SSD and spend the rest of your resources on as many TIE fighters as you can. I think that would pretty much sum up the power of the Empire. Nice video, btw.
For those who are interested: -The Executor-class Super Star Destroyer, also known as a Star Dreadnought, was the personal flagship of Darth Vader, as well as the first of its' kind to ever be produced. 19 kilometers (11.8 miles) long, it was equipped with 2,000 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries, 2,000 Turbolaser Batteries, 2,000 Heavy Ion Cannons, 500 Laser Point-Defense Cannons, and 250 Heavy Concussion Missile Batteries. Needless to say, the Executor could hold her own against an entire fleet of opposing ships with ease, and was only put under pressure when confronted with something equally as large or superior, such as the Eclipse-class. In fact, it took the combined might of the entire Rebel fleet to be able to bring her down during the Battle of Endor, a testament to her sheer might and power.
Thrawn's Revenge mod for Empire at War: Forces of Corruption is fucking amazing. There's a sequel for Thrawn's Revenge for Sins of a Solar Empire which is also great.
the mc80b liberty are also known as mon calamari cruisers and the independance cruicers are aslo made by the mon calamari and admiral akbar has a independance cruiser named home one and is famous for its participation in the battle for endor
Hey good video Thumbs up :) i was wondering do you ever play Star Wars: Jedi Academy ? ^^ if you do you certainly recognise sound effect from this game ;) especially the "/spawn" sound :p Really good i love that !
proton bombs can, but still wouldn't do too much damage. if it hits in a populated area it may kill about a dozen people from the explosion itself and perhaps thirty to fifty more from the vacuum of space sucking some guys out. however it is more likely it hit around either trooper's quarters or general corridors. if it hit the corridors, it would've killed about ten people overall as they could quickly close the blast doors in that area and most of those deaths would be the vacuum anyway. if it hit personal's quarters or barracks. in which case it'd kill whoever's in the room (which probably wouldn't be many people as they'd all be operating turbo lasers and stuff). if it is they were proton torpedoes they'd result in significantly less damage and therefore casualties. the two types of torpedoes used by the rebel alliance were MG1-A proton torpedoes and MG7-A proton torpedoes. MG1-A torpedoes weren't designed for shield piercing and more so for fighter combat or attacking transports. if any kinds of larger vehicles would be attacked by them, they'd likely only be corvettes or perhaps frigates as they have weaker shields. MG7s were slightly better at armour piercing but only had san effective range of a few hundred metres so it isn't likely it would've been them.
You should give the eclipse class next, you will love it more than the executor, trust me, bigger in size and with a special main weapon you should see yourself. (That is if they allowed its main weapons use in the mod)
Man love your accent. I used to watch your stuff years ago and the way you sound is totally different than now. It's this weird mix of sometimes North American, sometimes very British English influenced o.o
It always surprised me that none of the ships in Star Wars had main assault weapons, such as a spinal mounted weapon. Just close-range lasers/pulse weapons. So all ship-to-ship combat must be at very close range.
Hey diplex, you should do a representation of the battle above corosunt (I dont know how to spell it) the one at the start of revenge of the sith between the Republic and CIS i think that would be sick
Diplex, I need for you to use your popular RU-vidr influence to have a mod or full Star Wars: Empire at War game made to look this good. Just think of that game with these graphics!
Play Empire at War it is a RTS game where you build stuff and can fight in battles and its Really cool and theirs a campaign as well for 3 factions if you get gold version.
As much as I enjoy HW2, especially remastered, I can't get over how frustrating it is to maintain squads and battlegroups. No auto-replenish function. No carrier battlegroups without manual micromanaging
