Diplex I play homeworld a lot so here are some things you should know. When you tell large ships to move and they are near they do a move attack if you watched your large ships started moving to were you wanted to when you told them. All capital class ships have subsystems such as engines or weapons. You can target and destroy these subsystems which is why happened to you. Guys please like this so Diplex can see it.
+Casual shenanigans lol, very demanding of you. anyway Apollo, enjoying the content you've put out lately m8, can't wait to see more medieval 1212 mod for Attila, seeing as how i have a shitty rig :p
"Core-uss-unt" Some people pronounce it "Core-uss-ant" as well, which is also technically correct. It's named for the Corusca Jewel, because when viewed from space, the skylanes and city lights make the planet look like a massive Corusca Jewel. Pronunciation clarification and a fun fact to boot!
Diplex, you seriously need to get more fighter support. Without them, the enemy starfighters can harass your big ships with impunity and kill them off relatively quickly.
Ok, I need to know, how the hell do I get mods working on the remastered collection version of homeworld 2? (The homeworld 2 classic that comes with it). I can't update the game using the normal updater thanks to the way it was setup, so I really could use some help here.
Perhaps the blue bar represents system integrity? The old Star Wars flight sims had the ability to disable enemy ships with ion cannons, and once you got their systems to 0% they lost the ability to do anything but float in space. You could then easily destroy or capture them. If this game has an equivalent, you might have been screwed over by ion cannon fire or this mod's equivalent. Not sure if this is what happened, but worth looking into.
+DiplexHeated The resource thing you put at 50.0 (I forgot the name of it and I don't feel like re-watching the video) if if you bring in a resource gathering ship and collect from wreckage or asteroids. It makes the resources worth 50x more. I do not know what the resource gathering ship is sadly, but that is what it is for.
XD i agree sitting near the fleet beacon is a stupid idea but thats the AI for you :) and you picked out some really good ships for your fleet Great job!
How do you download this mod? What version of the game do you need and how to obtain that version? I'm really having a hard time installing this mod. thank you in advance
diplex the reason why your ships parish is because you let them go in alone with no support rather than a orgized fleet in the beginning. that's why you let the empire fleet fall
Hey DiplexHeated. You know you can get rid of the U.I. right? Would make for some better screenshots. I honestly don't remember the exact button (I think its "H" or something, it is in the command menu somewhere). Also, hit "F" while selecting a unit to zoom in on it and "Focus" on it (great for In close fighter screenshots). You can do the same to enemies, think it is Alt+F while clicking on the unit. This could be wrong, and I haven't played Homeworld in a while. Now on to he important bits. Excellent job picking up some Star Destroyers. I'm not sure about the blue bar either. Almost like the fuel bar form Homeworld 1 (not the remastered, though there is a mod that brings back fuel). Maybe some sort of "power" bar? Not really sure. I have played this mod back in 4.0 and there was just too many problems for me at the time. (I.E. too many factions used to many of the wrong units, ruining the experience). I never had A.I. problems then though. Every "era" has it's own factions, and one of the "Empire" factions (forgot which era) deos indeed have CIS units. They are in the game, but not sorted properly, as you have found out.
If you want some working clone wars battles with homeworld 2, try the old clone wars warlods version from 2005 it still works and actually isnt as buggy as the main version. I noticed that the venator is weak as hell in the main, but pretty powerful in the old version. Its just the graphics that arent that good, but still worth a try
Now that EA has a 10 year star wars licence I hope they make a standalone star wars strategy game. With Space, ground and space to ground combat. Also those really nice graphics they used in battlefront :) What do you think about that Diplex?
'Against Fighters, Use Lancer Frigattes if you have no Fighters. And MAYBE you could spawn a flight squadron of Tie Defenders, Rocket Boats, Tie Advanced and Tie Phantoms insted of one or two bigger Ships or this undhielded cheap Tie fighters. ^^
I wish Homeworld had something of the grand strategy feel of Sins of Solar Empire. I VASTLY prefer the combat in Homeworld, but I prefer to be able to contextualize things. I like to look at a capital ship in my fleet and remember the fights I've gotten into with it. I like each little victory to add up to something greater.
When you say that "You lose the control of the AI" when trying to move units... You don't notice your Area circle is red? It means move attack... Which is done with Control+A so I'd guess you control is stuck somewhere or something... But doing move attack, they will try to fight the closest target possible, even if you try to do a "move attack" away from them. Enemy is in range, they will stay where they are, and keep shooting...
All I can say is: where in HADES is an Eclipse-class SSD when you need one????? Its superlaser would've certainly decided the battle! Still, epic and awesome!
Diplex you engage fleets in a piecemeal manner without ships supporting each other with overlapping fields of interlocking fire. Rather than send your fleet in a column try deploying in different formations and engage at longer ranges rather than getting so close to the foe.
You should do an executor class star dreadnought versus the entire rebel fleet or recreate the fight above the battle of endor including the dreadnought class that went down
