I watched like 8 videos on how to sit on the exercise ball, and this is the only one that got me into an alignment that felt like it activated the right muscles. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the video. Was worried I was going to pop my ball, so had it pretty underinflated. After seeing this, I'm sitting much more comfortably :)

Also, if you have problems with fidgeting or restlessness, bouncing on the ball is a nice way to deal with some of that restless energy. Not ideal for a crowded classroom or workplace setting since the ball squeaks quite a bit, but good enough for a home office setup.

Is the totality of this information accurate for women too? Like the pelvis position and the height of the ball? Because I watched another video with 2 women and it said the knees must be 90° while sitting

So for a while I've been sitting on a giant ball, and my feet have been off the ground. This was causing me to lean forward. Was this detramental?

I have a 72" exercise ball which I use at the computer desk, I'm noticing that my coxis (tailbone) doesn't hurt any longer because of constant moving while on the ball.

Typical me. Buy first. Research later. At least got my ball size on spot. Damn sitting on it is fun and engaging. Time to put my displays higher now.

I love using my swiss ball as a desk chair! It was the best switch/decision I made in terms of using a chair for my back posture. Plus they’re fun to bounce on if you have a big ball!😂 that’s also an awesome exercise to do!

I finally dug out an unused, uninflated Swiss ball from the back of a cupboard today! The receipt was like a piece of faded parchment! It felt like 'Indiana Jones & the Lost Exercise Equipment'. The date on the receipt said, wait for it... 11th February 2014! Good news is that it's exactly the right size for my height according to your chart.

Are they just called exercise balls or something more specific?

Good question Peta. Sometimes they are referred to as a "Swiss Ball" , "Stability Ball" or a "Yoga ball".

Is it safe to sit on the ball for 8 eight hours?
@painfixprotocol
@painfixprotocol 10 месяцев назад
While sitting continuously on any surface for 8 hours is obviously not great - a properly sized ball is certainly one of the better choices. Simply because it's a much more active form of sitting than most chairs.

Awesome video. I noticed you didn't mention the added benefits of lifting your feet and balancing on the ball? That really helps the core. Learn to balance slowly for sure but very beneficial. Just start with one foot. Also, keeping the ball inflated properly is very important. I want to see more of your videos. Keep it up!

Thank you for this video. Very helpful. Below is a cut and paste comment i made on pain from standing up with locked forward lean posture from sitting in a chair. Thiught uou may like to see what me a 59 year old is exoeriencing.... Excellent. Finally someone talking about exactly what I'm experiencing. Would be great if can explain why as stand up straight more from years of being slightly hunched over without knowing it and rebalance my body there's a numbness in my sacroiliac area and a numbness in my glute and the side of my leg as I finally stand straight on that side and can all this be reversed? .... and how or is it a "Quada Equina" thing involving nerves bundle issues that may need surgery ? ....Or even quada equina nerve bundle issues severity can be naturally reversed through heat and ice standing erect and stretching? Also would be great if you could explain what's going on internally (where what joints(sacroiliac?) and muscles) when a lumbar numbness and an inability or reduced ability to push out colon for bowel movement (pre incontinence) due to hunched locked forward lean posture occurs and can this or should this inability to push BM (pre incontinence) be remedied in time by finally standing up erect (even on the toilet) with no pain and ability to reach back and be standing straight with zero pain?

Thanks very much, SF! If you are even suspecting Cauda Equina syndrome, I would strongly encourage you have that checked by a qualified healthcare practitioner in your area as soon as possible.

does it help relieve pelvic floor tightnes?
@painfixprotocol
@painfixprotocol 9 месяцев назад
Good question! In my experience, no the exercise ball is too large to get at the muscles in the pelvic outlet. But in this video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-obZxSl4L1lg.html - I demonstrate a simple technique for releasing the muscles of the pelvic floor.

Hi Yoni, I am wondering if there is a good at-home way to "crack" my lower back. Sometimes my hips and lower back feel all locked up and I would like to release them.
@painfixprotocol
@painfixprotocol 2 года назад
Hi Jen, the question I would encourage you ask is not how to "crack" your lower back but, what is causing your lower back and hips to "lock up" in the first place? When you can answer that question, you have a shot at permanently correcting to the problem.

As we typically lose a few inches in height as we get older, what are your key tips for minimising this loss?
@painfixprotocol
@painfixprotocol 2 года назад
Great question, Lara! The most important things are to: 1. Maintain the normal secondary curves in the spine (neck, lower back and foot arches) and 2. Maintain a good level of strength/stamina in the muscles of the posterior chain.

I have lost height and am now 5' from an original 5'3.5" That is right at the transition point on the size chart.
@painfixprotocol

Hi Elizabeth, I would probably go with the 55cm - it's a guess, based on limb length of a person who's supposed to be 5',3"
