Your brain will work better if you take regular exercise, according to a study. Learn English vocabulary from the news headlines with Catherine and Neil.
Vocabulary:
✔️ sharp - mentally quick and intelligent
✔️ keep (something) at bay - prevent (something) from happening
✔️ stints - limited periods of time spent doing an activity
The story:
A study says moderate exercise several times a week is the best way for the over 50s to keep their brains in good working order. Australian researchers say combining aerobic activities, such as swimming, cycling or jogging, with muscle-strengthening exercises is most effective. They support the idea that taking up exercise at any age is worthwhile.

Exercise is essential for brain and body health. I was always told to imagine exercise as being the vehicle that carries fuel to all the parts (stations) of the body. Without exercise, the brain doesn't get enough 'deliveries'.

To develop a sharp brain to solve any academic English tests, I need to exercise it more by listening, reading, speaking and writing in English, it's a good way to surround myself with the language I am learning. But the most important of all is to keep my laziness at bay and practice daily, not just a stint.
