Exercising An American Kestrel Indoors 

Haha, what a pretty bird! Last Saturday I saw my first wild kestrel near Congaree Nat. Park. It was flying too fast for me to get a good look, but I think it was hunting down some swallows.

sparrows are simple, for single use you can use an arapuca. or you can make a trap thats for multi use, i will try to make a video on how to make it out of cardboard.

Love them. I really love the style of flights these little bundles of pure magical energy give us. :) awesome technique. She is a beauty.

you know any birds that can take sparrows, rabbits,starlings,squirrels, and pigeons?

She does well around 112-115 grams. I've been working her with the lure and she's getting pretty good. I would like to try to train her for car hawking next, but I've had trouble obtaining sparrows for bagging.Thanks for the comment.

I believe so, but obtaining a falconry license has many requirements. It is an awesome sport if you have a passion for it.

A male Harris' might be able to handle all these.

This was my first experience with a kestrel. I did enjoy housing and flying her in my house. I released her this past spring as I prefer the larger birds and hope to trap a new Red Tail soon.

Amazing how she knows to do it 2 time. ur a damn good trainer. I wish I could learn from you. I'm 15 and looking to start falconry. I have 8 years experience trapping, Banding, and releasing birds, so I think I will have an advantage over other falconers considering ive processed so many birds and know how a healthy bird looks compared to an unhealthy.
