Exhaust Gas Recirculation, Don't Delete Your EGR Valve
Shop Exhaust Systems at Highway and Heavy Parts! highwayandheavyparts.com/prod...
Rob from HHP Technical Sales gives us a walk-through of the EGR System on a Cummins ISX. He'll also give insight into why it's best to not delete your EGR System and keep your diesel engine the way the OEM intended.

Anyway to clean up the cooled egr gas before it gets into the intake side of the engine ? Intake manifold and IMAP sensor get all dirty with all the carbon build up. . DPF on egr exhaust after being cooled ? Thanks

Hi robert torres! Rob answered your question in our most recent video. Check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VWSAzGiTNls.html

good day sir.you have pcv valve w/c blowby coming out down to intake line to turbo the to intake manifold to be burned again since this is not O2 this also reduce temp during combustion process.sir is this not enough to reduce thermal stress on cylinder blocks.thanks for your kind reply.

Most Diesel engines (Heavy Duty) do not run a PCV valve.

This is very disappointing, I was ready to delete. I'm hoping to reduce the amount of soot that collects in the intake system and a delete seemed like a easy way to do it. Your video makes great points though, thanks for the explanation. Back to the ol' drawing board 🤪

Really well explained video,my one question is,in order to delete all of the after treatment parts do I have to delete the egr cooler also or can I leave it on, the reason I’m asking is because there is a national back order on def sensor that I need, no body has them sensors in the nation so my 2020 389 Pete truck is down bc a def sensor shortage, thank you

It is best to replace sensor and keep all after treatment working as it should be.

Can you explain why they run unfiltered gas into engine instead of clean ? Seems soot is a major issue and causes most issues both mechanical and electronic .
@Highwayandheavyparts
@Highwayandheavyparts 2 года назад
Mechanical engines are not nearly as "clean" running as the electronic engines The reason for the EGR is to allow inert gas to displace charge gas and control combustion temperature You have a good point... when something is not correct in the engine soot production can go up. Being unfiltered can cause many issues due to this. Caterpillar has a system called CGI that filters the gas then re introduces it to the engine.

This is a chronic issue in our industry. Repair facilities that are unable to diagnose and service these systems turn to deletes but have no idea of the consequences.

I'm about to buy a truck but it has the dpf and egr deleted.. Is it possible to put the systems back on and have it tuned back to stock?
@Highwayandheavyparts
@Highwayandheavyparts 2 года назад
Yes, it can be returned to stock! Reinstall the original components and have it re-tuned back to OEM Specs. If you're looking for what components are needed, give us a call with the Make / Model / Engine Serial Number. 844-447-1453

This feels like a double edged blade. Egt not high enough to cleanly burn the diesel thus recirculating unburned exhuast gases. Then whats not being recirculated and reburned is being scrubbed in the dpf. Especially in high load situations.

Please give us a call for further trouble shooting. We will need some engine info as well. Thank you! (855) 447-1453
