I'm not really a fan of them being put into uncomfortable positions just for a music video. I mean it looks good and all, but are there truly any positive? Put them in a white room and let them do their thing. Those are more enjoyable anyway.
The Hunky Dory Days for USA, Mexico and Japan fans continue as their 2023 10th Anniversary Concert series closes after they performed a whooping 70 of their over 120 superhit songs. And their big climax at the 17,000 seat Yokohama stadium in Nov 26 was unbelievable! But the 2024 Chapter Two of Band-Maid’s quest for World Domination is now underway. A live Band-Maid experience is not to be missed, if at all possible! Thx, Jack!
Name of lead guitar player is KANAMI! Try to remember her name because this girl is the best female guitar player in the world!!! Thanks for your reaction.
We are the Maidiacs 😄 I could listen to Misa play bass all day, I'm impressed with her ability to play with a pick and then switch instantly to slapping and back again (she tucks the pick in the joint of her finger). They are all so talented.
Saw them play this in 2022 in Chicago. If before the show you gave me the set list, this would have been my second to least anticipated song for the show. Not that it was ever bad by any stretch, still quite good, but not up there compared to their other songs to me. But man, when they started, all of a sudden I was one of the first to start jumping and pumping my fist and chanting Hey and the floor started literally bouncing. This was definitely a top five song of the night. The music video doesn't do the song justice in a live setting. Much like Domination or Play, this song is greatly elevated in a live setting, even by Maid standards. Needs a proper live video.
I was chatting to a Japanese guy and he told me that in Japanese music they aren't that strict about always being in the same genre all time. They stick to an original idea and then mix in other genres if they think the song needs it and this is really true for BM. I really like their concept because a song never gets boring, even after several listens. When new music from BM, you can never guess the direction when Kanami creates the music. She always comes up with something new and she must have the greatest imagination in the world because she seem never repeat herself! She truly is a source of inspiration for me. The whole band is, because of their always-positive-attitude and they always find a way out of problems in their lyrics. So kudos to Miku and Saiki for their superb lyrics! Thanks Jack for another spot on reaction!
Miku's lyrics give a great commentary on influencers today. There are so many great musical parts in this song but the one that sticks with me is when Seiki holds the note near the end and Miku comes in higher and holds it. ❤
Thank you for the wonderful reaction. I saw those big smiles lol (that's exactly what this band does to me also). If you like the recent stuff, def check out the MVs for Shambles, Sense, From Now On (instrumental masterpiece), and Corallium (the last 3 coming off their latest EP). Corallium is prob my fav of the bunch, but it's a shame it's the only one with no MV (it's worth reacting to the audio). I look forward to more smiles!
Welcome to team MISA MISA MISA. Great reaction. Next up, try "From Now On", if you haven't already heard it. It's from same album as "Hate?" and "Influencer", but it's an instrumental.
Another great reaction Master Jackmeri. You're right, mixing genre is what they do. Have a hunky dory day....and keep on rocking with the Maids. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
Nice reaction, thanks! One small bit of constructive criticism, though. I think you need to fiddle with your noise gate settings. It keeps cutting your voice out when your volume drops and what you've got to say is worth hearing imo
I recorded 8 reactions back to back that night and didn't notice my gate issue until I was in the editor. I decided to post anyway as rerecording a first reaction felt disingenuous.
1:38 - Although it's hard to notice on the first listen, the sliding pick at the start scraping up the neck is in fact two sliding picks, one moving up the fretboard and the other down. It is noticeable at the very start of the scrapes. Nice reaction to THE best Hard Rock band on Earth.
Other all female Japanese bands to check out: Lovebites- heavy metal, song-Swan Song with Chopin Intro. Miyako, plays guitar, is a classically trained pianist. Gacharic Spin- they have their own category-song MindSet. Koga is another remarkable bassist.
