I am really glad Ross was able to rejoin Exhumed. I always loved his vocals, especially paired with Matt's raspy vocals. I got to finally meet both of them at a show last year and they were really cool, down-to-earth guys. Not to mention, I think Exhumed is still putting out quality albums.
the way they talk about the old days of finding metal was a hell of a nostalgia kick. I did the same shit; reading and writing names down in notebooks, remembering logos and looking through magazines to find them, compilations with metal magazines....damn
It fucks me up just a little to have interviewed Ross myself and then seeing one of my favorite musicians interviewing my other favorite musician. This was a real treat, thanks for the episode Garza!
Please guest Obituary Next since their New Album had come-out Released last January,13, 2023 Would be cool and awesome to see them also would appreciate If I see Bullet for my Valentine here.
Cool. I had a chance to help the band in KCMO. I used to work for a venue. Stage hand staff. Met Mike really cool guy. Talked to him about drums. Actually met him when he was the drum tech for exodus. Exhumed are cool
Great band. Not to sound old or unappreciated towards the newer material but rhe pre-slaughtercult era with Ross on vocals (1993-94?) Was just awesome. Radiator bitch, puke of the dead. Those first demos were creepy and sick. I recall the acid bath/pungent stench show in SF... real bones with meat and blood being thrown into the pit, people slipping and sliding on blood, someone in the band projectile vomiting at the pit, ross cutting himslef uo with a razor, Matt holding guitar by the whammy bar to wank it. Shit was nuts. Especially because of the LSD i suppose 😮
Just found this video.... Of course you are here commenting lol. Going to need that Exhumed and The New Plague show. Yeah, grateful dead parking lot in Oakland, Exhumed, Acid Bath, Pungent Stench, and Brutal Truth in S.F., that was a combo for the ages.
I liked the focus on what makes a good drummer is doing what the song calls for and having insane techniques is great but without having the ability to show some restraint, you're not gonna gel in too many bands unless they're a showboat-fest of a band. Ya gotta do what the song calls for.
