Hey Blake I thought I would update you on the electric fuel pump project I did find a replacement fuel pump its a Walbro GSL392 which is now TI Automotive corp. This fuel pump works well and the price was around $75.00 on amazon a lot cheaper then the OEM fuel pump which I believe runs around $275.00, you will need two fuel line barbs which are 10mm x 0.1 thread I think that's correct if not i will let you know and I will update how the pump holds up so far great !
Hey Blake can you recommend a alternative fuel pump for the same mower you are working on in this video, the fuel pump doesn't appear to be the OEM and the OEM has a Part# 24 393 52-S, those OEM fuel pumps are very expensive and I believe all I need is one that produces around 50 psi and delivers 15 gph at 5.0 amps, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thanks for your informative videos.
Thanks for the comment Tim. This was the only fuel injected mower I've run into so I dont have alot of experience there to make a good recommendation. In carbureted applications I use a 2-3 psi universal inline pump. If your mower has a pickup tube in fuel regardless of the pump running or not, I think you could do the same. Make sure to use injection style clamps and injection rated hose for all connections.
@@BlakesGarage1 Thanks for your speedy reply, I also own and operate a small engine shop and only on occasion do I have a EFI equipped machine come in to the shop and it is a Exmark with a 28 hp horizontal shaft Kohler with over 3000 hours on it so the customer did not want to invest in a expensive repair due to the life expectancy of this mower knowing it has so many hours on it, so shortly after sending you the message i took the old fuel pump to local auto parts store and was able to match up one that is similar but with slightly higher gph and the same psi rating, I will let you know how this works because the cost of the replacement pump was only $80.00 compared to $300.00, thanks again !
@@timpope1221 good to hear! Thats a ton of hours. If the engine ever goes, id switch to carbureted for ease of repair, parts and engine cost. Good luck with mower season, we're in the thick of it here.
@@BlakesGarage1 yes it is ! this customer has 2 Exmarks over 20 years old one with 3039 hours and one with 2200 I started servicing these a few years ago so needless to say Im impressed with these kohler engines, Im going to rebuild them when they finally decide to stop running and I will let you know what I find on the crank journals and cylinder walls.
