i love this video. this gives me an idea of what Competitions are like. I just went for my first one, it was great i loved it. Here in Hawaii on the west side of Oahu its usually sponsored by Quad Fathers SPL LLC.
hey i want to say thank you for the info on the seaflo fans i know that it was a little while ago but mine just came in today and I am so happy thumbs up to you
Nice video exo iv still fairly new to competing myself with my highest score a 157.4db at 47hz but you're so right between burp classes and music average classes depending on the organization you're in.... But your right anything can happen in the lanes but before going in the lanes there is a list of things before you get in the lanes and actually go.. Are the visors angled right, is the song or right tone is ready to go, is everything on, is the volume full tilt, are the seats in the right position, are the rpms up, and so many things that can make a difference of 1-2db on the meter
EXO....thats the shit right there man ......looking to build a 145db hatch with two 12' woofers ..and this video just gave me the reason to get my second woofer
Thanks so much for the video! Really got me exactly the information i was looking for! Do you plan on attending Slamfest this year? Would love to meet up for a demo!!
@6:34 no doubt. and soon there will be one less out here givin love to NE. Be careful out in Arizona Bay... oh, newbies need a list of event in NE so they can know where to show up!
Ive always lived in the Midwest & with people getting pulled over, ticketed, cars impounded, seem like no one really cares about big bass anymore. It's sad. I've always had a box in my trunk even with strollers for the kids, even with my wife complaining about no trunk room. I don't know man. There's no competitions in my area. I haven't been to one in like 11-15 years
He might have moved, because demoing this car he even stated he wished it was like the competitions in America because its the same guy running them each time or something like that
i have two pure 12s in some shitty press wood box and a dc 3k amp they are in my brothers dodge neon the press wood is dry rotted i do have birch i need some tips how to tune a sub box for two 12s i m a newb in building boxes
at 9:20 into the video i noticed something exo and its something i can sypathise in here in australia where i am there isnt much of a bass scene but im a bass head and as i was watching this i saw u not liking the note your subs where banging and thinking songs not good or its to low for the subs man all i got to say aslong as the end of the day you can jam some killer beats you should be happy as all hell its a awesome build sign off from australian bass pioneer....
What do you think about the DKI 15sDark Audio Industry 15s. Are they better than sundown audio. I have about 500 bucks for sub's.What is your recommendation.? Thanks for answer my question.
It would be interesting if an SPL competition used a sweep from 35-80Hz and the highest average was the winner, with points reduced if it's 10dB or more from flat.
I have a question, I'm looking to update the music in my car but nothing like what you do lol.. wanted to know what type of suspension should I get? I'm only updating existing speakers and adding 2 small amps as well as a small box.. any info is greatly appreciated..
Exo u should tell me what is the next bass Competition i am almost done with my buget builda buget build for 1300$ 6 12 inch subs 3 amps and a sony bluetooth head unit i got everything brand new on sale
Dont know if EXO will see this, but can somebody tell me what the hell happened to his cone on the orange one at the end when hes alone? It looks fucked up around the dust cap.
@@robertnorwood8712 I was looking for songs in particular. I've downloaded 1000+ rebassed songs from various sites since then. Got plenty of 3-6 Mafia and there current signed artists G59 aka Suicide Boyz
Hey EXO love the videos. I have a question for you. Is playing music like dj slow n throw safe for my setup? I have an sound qubed HDC-3 18" in a box tuned to 33hz an 1.5kw and my buddy is telling me that anything below 30hz isn't safe. Is this really true?
My understanding is that you can find out about what you can safely play by multiplying your tunning frequency by .75. So for your system, 33 x .75 is 24.75 hz. Then, all you have to do is set your subsonic filter to that number and in general, you should be safe. Just pay attention to your subs and look to see if they're bottoming out or anything when you play that low. Each system is different. Hope this helps :/
Below 30Hz (28Hz) is where you start getting into subsonic frequencies which means you could be potentially playing much louder than you realize because you can't hear it. You can only feel it. Maybe that is what your friend is thinking of. If you mean safe for the equiptment, you could be hitting the "xmax" or the maximum possible excursion or even simpler: the furthest your cone can move backwards or forwards from its resting position. Pushing your sub to the xmax can be dangerous because the audio is technically clipping on the subwoofer end. Usually it sounds like your subwoofer is bottoming out if that is the case. The lower the frequency, the further the sub will travel forwards and backwards, this is true, but the amount of power you are pushing your sub with also factors into excursion. I recommend experimenting with it. Get test tones from 19Hz through 35Hz and turn it up as loud as you will ever have it. Try 35Hz, then 34, then 33 etc. as soon as you hear irregular sounds (mechanical or audio based) set your sub sonic filter if you have one (low pass is not the same thing) a few Hz over that mark. Then you wont ever have to worry about what you play. If you dont have one, get one or only play music above that frequency... if you go below, no worries, just turn down the volume a bit so you dont get that noise.
@exocontralto hey,I need some advice on what type of sub to get dd z3 or sundown team or fi please give.me your opinion ... a single 18 or 15..have a dd m4b
The hell?? Insulation or polyfill is used to change the internal volume of your box to make the subs feel like they are in a bigger box. If you have enough room no polyfill is needed.
the comment where some people think it's outrageous is so true that's where u get the best reactions I'm so used to mine it Bollinger seems loud to me but when a straight. get site in there there in composer shock of how it sounds and have had allot of tap outs or have strangers approach like wtf u running in there I still need to put a recipe meter in it to see what I running
Hey exo! Im new in car audio. I have a Z Eddition 2400 class D 1 channel amp. There is no label on the amp itself that tells me the actual Rms and ohms it puts out. I tride looking it up on line but had no luck. Is there a way to find that info so that I can match both sub and amp to get the best performance out of both?
What brand of amp hifonics. I give hifonics 50-60% of what they state tops for rms. And that's still alot of variables, alt, big 3, what wire your running. Power supply is #1. Then you can decide how much you want to put in to get rms out of an amp.
But your am a guy stated he was pushing 2 kicked comp cvr's 15" if that is true it's pushing enough for 2 15's at 1,000 rms a piece. So there you go. I'd go with two subs at 800 rms each. Then decide how much room you have for a box so you can find the right subs for your space and amp limits.
Hey exo I have two 18s and two amps each sub is 1500rms each amp I have is 1500rms would it be best to strap them since they are strap able and get 3000rms at 2 ohms or have each amp running Each sub for 1500 at 1 ohm
What's the trick to adding a huge system to a Mercedes ML63 with the garbage Harmon Kardon? I don't need to keep anything from stock so what does it need to keep everything else functioning properly?
I’m Trying to get a good set up. Tell me about massive audio fosgate p3’s nvx or precision power. I wanna get 3 10’s or a set of 12’s for my 2001 bmw e38. Can you please tell me which one to go with and what Hifonics Brutus amp.
EXOcontralto quick question for you bro... I'm planning on installing 4 l7 15s in my rsx hatchback... What would you recommend for the enclosure walled or firing up to the roof?... Back seats are coming out.
9:05 saw his cheeks flexing when he blew out XD I was like why is he making a pain face.... cause he might be in a little bit of pain xD on a old jensen amp that I thought I metered a total of 220watts coming out of to later find it only dishing 50watts a channel but that was on car power then on pc power... but it would suck the air out of your nose on two oldschool 10" rockfords
"we weren't gearing this vehicle for competitions, its really just for music...and driving from point A to point B" Like a real bass addict. I wouldn't go from point A to point B without 1st place bass either. And "we?" I watch all your vehicles...who else is helping you? I'm confused I thought you were a one man band who won't ever charge for demos.
Omg so excited I got replied too =D I’m one of the very few chick bass heads I watch all your video I’m doing a 6 12 build this summer can’t wait but thank you so much love you videos and can’t wait to see your bass songs vid love Miranda
Wow, that will definitely be something to look forward to. Good luck with the whole project, if you have any questions feel free to drop them in the comments and I'll try my best to answer them. Thanks for the kind comment!
Anytime like I said I love your videos and it’s kinda my drive to do something above and beyond what people in my area usually have and I’m very much looking forward to it but as always I’m glad you do what you do because I think you give a lot of people motivation to stay in our hobby because a lot of people I know watch you so thank you for your hand in keeping bass alive =) 👍👍👍
I was gonna post a pic of the box but it won’t let me lol but it looks really good I’m doing American bass XDs with not the most expensive speaker but they have a super good sound and output plus the box it’s built like a tank so when that’s no longer doing it I can always put better 12s in it with more power but I think this is a great start especially for where I live I’ve never seen someone in my area have more than 3 subs in their car so this is gonna be like huge system around here anyways lol
