Activision removing DMZ from COD was a very dumb move. DMZ was a fantastic gamemode and they're missing out at a headstart on what I believe will be the new main genre for gaming

When I saw this on Game Awards I was literally thinking the DMZ community loving this game.

Ooh yes. I’ve read about Shark Mob a few times and remember their visuals for the upcoming social based looter shooter, same people from massive, working on the division. Their artwork they originally dropped had great division vibes. I have a good feeling about this one!!!

Been wanting a Division/DMZ hybrid. I had so much fun with friends in Division 2 and if they can capture that again, this could be interesting. Hopefully its not too far removed from reality though as I like some plausibility.

Seems interesting. Not usually a fan of 3rd person view and I'm concerned the snap from 3rd to 1st when ADSing is going to be jarring, and I definitely prefer modern weapons/gear vs futuristic, but as long as it comes to console I'm more than willing to give it a shot. The rest of the game's foundation sounds fantastic. Honestly, after a year of DMZ I'm just looking for *something* to fill that void, I'm hooked on the PvPvE extraction shooter model and there doesn't seem to be much of anything coming to console.

Look very interesting and I like their direction. Thanks Westie! I just really hope they give next gen console players a performance mode with frames higher than 30 fps. Ideally 120 fps if possible like Fortnite and COD with their 120 Hz refresh rate available. A game like this you want to have as smooth of a game for movement and shooting mechanics gameplay

I feel like this is going to be a little too unforgiving. While i understand the encentive behind losing progress when you die instead of extracting, it seems like you lose too much stuff. Especially since your loadout is what predominately affects your chance of success. Ill have to wait and see how they handle this.

Would love to see a gears of war style extraction game

Its a shame this is your only video on a game I'd play, because your style is perfectly precise, like yhe best bits of a game review but without the waffle, just straight facts giving a flavour and highlighting key features which msy or may not be a turn off game feature for some players. Solid video.

What’s with so many games now having 3 player max teams?

I am little nervous about the fast TTK. It doesn’t need to be like apex and how long that is but there is enough games like cod where the TTK is too quick.

Im excited for this. I like the you die you loose everything mechanic and the lack of rpg elements as well, it's better for people that don't have as much time to grind the game hours to level up characters.

Id prefer a full time first person view for FPS games. With that said Lost Planet 2 was a third person shooter that was great

Is it just me, or does this sound a lot like Anthem? Hopefully this game does a bit better because it sounds like fun.

If the gear can make me gain the gameplay of a pilot in Titanfall 2 then I’m sold. I hope the view can be optionally changed so I can make my character only have first-person view.

man this is what im excited for, i hope they take DMZ and zombies formula with tons of actioni , cause it's the only fun extraction style i like, i dont like slow boring tarkov milsims with millions of stupid items and survival mechanics.. i hope theres a social hub. and theres a grappling hook! only thing that worries me is its a tencent company

These are the same devs that released their previous game when you couldn't even reload your weapon properly and you constantly died because you didn't have ammo in your weapon, even though the UI showed you had. Please, do not accept money from this company again

Man i hate the 3rd person part, i was so hyped until i heard that.

I love the cycle frontier and I haven't played any other games after it, so listen to me please: One of the most exciting and original things there were other players' ships descending on the planet, which makes perfect sense and brings a valuable difference to the game, something unique and different. The laziest, most personalityless and boring thing is for you to copy the damn Fortnite parachute that's in all the garbage games nowadays, and it doesn't make any sense at all. It was a feeling of suspense to land on the planet without knowing exactly where, and the issue of the storm was also a wonderful and exciting difference. You got everything right in The Cycle Frontier, why make a game like all the others? consider this, follow the cycle line, with its differences that have YAGER personality. I'm very happy that they're launching a new game but I'm worried about making a mistake with something that was so good, just like the Marvel movies. Don't disappoint us.

3 months later and still no actual gameplay?

The only downside is losing the load out you come in with.

it should be first person only. Any game with permadeath high stakes should be first person only. People will just be third person on the edge of doors as the risk of dying is too high...

Nervous about the fact that these guys made Bloodhunt which failed spectacularly with dev worked ceased after a year! Hopefully they can get it right since they're at least making this as an extraction main game instead of what BF and COD did where their half baked extraction games were mere side modes to their main games and it showed. So desperate for an extraction done right as I don't care for Tarkov (a great concept horribly executed but the ONLY thing around).

I just dont understand why every single fps shooter now has to be pvp. I understand they are big sellers but not everyone wants to play pvp. Ppl like myself just have to quit playing, I haven’t played a single video game in almost 4 years and will probably never play again. Games like DMZ would be so much fun and would include every one if they just had a separate server that was only a coop pve

Hard pass. Extraction PvP games will have people camping the extractions and cheating has gotten so bad, why even bother? That's exactly what Yager did with The Cycle: Frontier by abandoning it and their "experience" with co-developing this game should had told them that.
