The ‘drill method’ is barbaric. The risk of noise induced tinnitus and hearing loss is unacceptably high. The chisel method, as I do it, is the only way to go. No skin incisions, both ears at the same time, dressings out the next day. And this technique is ‘not available’ in Australia. The mind boggles.
I also suffer from this problem... the question I want an answer to is there any chance that operation might go horribly wrong, because I'm very scared of doing the operation... thank You
Hi... I didn't do it yet because I went again to get checked and then my doctor told me I have ear exostosis because of a narrow ear canal not because of a bone ingrowth... but hopefully soon I'll do the surgery where they just cut the excess skin in my ear canal which makes my ear exostosis... however I wish you luck and all the best, stay alive and healthy!!! I know your problems because I have the same ones - tinitus, earwax buildup and blockage and then you can't hear very well until your doctor wash it out... good luck!
