Thank you so much for this video. I had cholesteatoma in my right ear when I was 22, now I'm 48. So it's while back. I was unlucky to meet a surgeon who wasn't precise enough, so I went in the hospital with a smile, and came out with a full facial paralysis on the right side. Looking like a monster. It has left me broken for life. Because after a reconstruction of the facialnerve, via a transplant nerve out of my neck it didn't recover that well. I got some movement back but synkinesis ruins the rest of the recovery But no one could or has taken the time to explain to me how such a condition starts in your ear. And now after so many years I finally know, thank you. I always had a vacuum in my inner ear, 1 advantage I never had problems in taking off in airplains, no pressure problems at all :-) But now after seeing this I'm sure I will get it in my left ear aswell. There is vacuum too. My left eardrum was ruptured 1 month ago, so no vacuum anymore, but everything is now soooo loud, the balance between my right ear (radical mastoidectomy) is now completely off. It ruptered when I was taking off my earprotection at the shooting range, I shaved my head so it was sucked on pretty good on my head, and I took it off too quickly. That moment I could hear the air leaking out of my ear. Thats was weird. I will have it check out, havent seen a doctor in 3 years now, because everything was good and quiet.

Hi, did you guys have the paired subdermal electrodes during operations? My doctor recommended it to protect the nerve during operation, but its out of my pocket. Please i need some answers from you guys if this is necessary during surgery. Thank you and Godbless 🙏

I’m not sure if I have this. I had infection on my right ear 5 months ago and now both ears doesn’t hear the same it’s like I’ve lost 15% of hearing on my right but there’s no pain. Also, idk how to describe this but both ears doesn’t feel the same whenever I yawn and swallow.. Could this be cholesteatoma or the mild hearing loss after infection? Please I need answer

Larry I’m not an expert on the topic but I had it really bad and I got ear infections every year at the same time when I had it and they lasted for a while so I would also take that into account when asking yourself if you have it or not because it could just be mild hearing loss but like I said I’m not an expert so just take what I said with a grain of salt

Dr. Clancy ENT My problem is different I clean my ears so much that my doctor told me that I have to let some wax build up to protect my ear drums. What can happen if my ears don't have some wax in it? I never did ask my doctor. Can you please explain it to me?
@NeuronalAxon
@NeuronalAxon 5 лет назад
The wax is protective and keeps the skin in the ear canal healthy as well as capturing dust etc., so that your ear's natural cleaning mechanisms can work.

ear wax is just as important as nose hair. Both protect vital parts of your body, with the ear it's the canal and to a lesser extent the ear drum. When it comes to nose hair its your immune system.
