Any beer lovers going to Bhutan must try the Red Panda Beer. It is a wheat beer with some unfiltered yeast and hence looks cloudy. It tastes amazing and the yeast gives it a fruity aroma. The story behind this beer that I was told was that a Swiss gentleman Fritz Maurer was invited to Bhutan by the king. Fritz later married a Bhutanese lady and settled in Bhutan. He brought Swiss cows and Swiss cheese to the country. He started a brewery in the Bumthang region of Bhutan and named it Bumthang Brewery. His son is currently running it. For whiskey connoisseurs, I would recommend 1907 whiskey. It is a single malt whiskey made to honor the 100th anniversary of institution of monarchy in Bhutan and coronation of the 5th king.
Hi David, I have watched all your Bhutan travel videos and I must say that you have the Best food videos of Bhutan , u beat Anthony Bourdains food travels of Bhutan, in my opinion..lol. I love how you have managed to travel to local places and tried all the local foods, which even some of the Bhutanese have yet to do. I like how open you are to trying out every local food of the country. I must say that you got very lucky with your travel guide too, since you have a very good guide who seems to be very knowledeable and relaxed. His energy and your energy level match, making the videos very enjyoble to watch. I am also very amazed at ur level of handling all those spicy ezays...lol. We, the Bhutanese eat ezay as a condiment but u seem to eat it like salad, which is of another level...a bow to u..lol. I, myself am a big foodie and a travel bug who loves to experience different local foods and experience cultures and seeing that someone finally made a good local food travels in Bhutan, which is enjoyable to watch makes me happy. Thank you for your wonderful food videos of Bhutan!
I was enjoying the video until I heard the first beep from the driver. I thought he had accidentally pressed down on the horn. But then it just continued. David why didn't you stop him from ruining the peace. That guy is not even Indian so why was he so honk happy?
