Large amounts is dangerous, but it depends on the surface area, as it is exothermic. It has to produce enough heat to ignite the hydrogen, which isn't going to happen with such a small sample.

@Den Nisi correction dear, it gives you nothing to do or work on, you yourself is giving you work and to the measure of your prowess or your flaws to some extend you will be able encompass the extremes up to point in which there will be exceptions to prove the rule in it s adversity to it. paradox is absurd in nature, but most anything in dual nature catch people taking sides, and in any side objectivity is lost. it s quite hard to be present in it and not invested in it, and some points of dispositions make it more or less in accordance with current religion of sciences in which people desperately attach to be able to experience sense of identity as thinking thing within realm of seemingly chaotic primordial soup in which holy grail remains in relation to cause-of-the-cause vis-a-vis origin, fractal in nature following model of forms and resemblance to whole in delimiters of golden ratio, pi, fibonacci, vesica piscis, one made from other, other came from one, projector and-is projected

This was really cool, and I enjoyed watching this whole saga. I think you pretty much got every element you could safely handle for this test. The only other common element I could think of was Americium, but it wouldn’t warrant a video in it’s own right, and you would either need to order a sample or crack open a smoke detector. Overall, I really enjoyed this series and it was fun to see how your element collection grew since the first video.

wow you haven't done nitrogen and oxygen? if you can get some liquid nitrogen, you could potentially make liquid oxygen and demonstrate its strong paramagnetism! liquid oxygen is super easy to make with liquid nitrogen too, you just leave a large, well-insulated styrofoam cup of liquid nitrogen out and let it slowly evaporate. it will condense the oxygen in the atmosphere which is denser than LN2 and sinks to the bottom of the cup. anyways, great and interesting video!

Does styrofoam have any reaction by itself to a big enough magnet?
@brainiac75
@brainiac75 6 лет назад
Yes, everything has some level of magnetic reaction. I can't remember it exactly, but I think it was in part 4 or 5 I tested the styrofoam alone. I didn't notice any clear reaction, so the styrofoam is negligible in the tests. But it sure has some form of magnetic susceptibility - just very low.
@doubledarefan

It's very low probably because the foam is mostly gasses. A solid piece of Polystyrene of any given size would sure react fare more.
