Why is the govt paying a TV station for coverage of a continental sports event? TV stations should rather pay the govt for the privilege of showing the sports events on their channel. Eg. Here in the US, NBC paid billions for the privilege to cover the Olympics. The Olympics organizing committee didn’t pay NBC

Tv rights for every sporting event is sold. Why did the nation still give money ($3.6 MILLON DOLLARS) to GBC ? Are we serious at all ??? The sports minister said before the Africa Games in Parliament that, per their statistics, 2 billion eyeballs will be watching the game which means any company would want to associate themselves with it why do we pay money again to GBC for tv rights ? SMH They just create, Loat and share.

The footsoldiers will come and defend this.. Ghana President cup which is not even a continental recognized cup by CAF but a friendly cup had it TV right sold. All African games that was hosted by previous countries sold the TV rights.
