I know it's not the same but I've found that people online can be a part of those circles too when it seems no one else is around. When I was single for example, I listened to a lot of Eric Thomas for motivation. I had a good group of friends that went to the gym and we motivated each other. It really does make a difference what Dr. Cloud is saying but don't forget the influence other people can have through videos, I enjoy watching Henry Cloud's videos, also Dave Ramsey and others. The way these people think rubs off on you even if you don't have a personal relationship with them. Thanks, Dr. Henry Cloud for all your videos. I feel like you are helping me! -Jay

Dependable people are more important, as we age. If they disregard our time, and their word to us… and choose not to take responsibility, it comes off as so much more immature, the older we get. Thank you for your content!!!!

Unfortunately right now I’m without anyone for support in life, personally in physical form, online, or anyone literally. I am working on moving out of the current city of DeadEdmonton as it’s nicknamed, to start fresh somewhere else. Now please don’t misunderstand me Edmonton has some absolutely wonderful positives with the 20 years I’ve been here, but I have exhausted absolutely every resource this city has for mental health and I need more help than what’s being offered. So I’m trying to pray to my Lord for directions as to where my next move is. Especially when I was just informed about yet another friends passing on, and my other best friend is moving too.

Same here. I pray to God that you will eventually have new friends that will be with you.

@@diamondgrace30 thank you 🙏 prayers are what’s getting me through this valley in life right now. I’m well aware it won’t be forever but it’s still difficult to go through while in human flesh.

Always love your content Dr Cloud. But just a few thoughts.. What about assessing whether a group is safe? .. & how to keep conversation on a neutral safe level? I find many people are so invasive, questions, questions.. or transactional, finding out how useful I can be to them, future faking things they will do for me that I never asked them to do.. pretending to be an ally just so I will help them out with something, you need to be very careful.. even in acquaintance situations. I imagine the reason most people withdraw from knowing larger networks of people, is because they are trying to protect themselves. And certainly ‘no friends’ are better than having bad ones.
