I really like this episode. This is so true.

I love the simplicity of how this is explained.It makes me think of the scripture that says "catch for us the foxes,the little foxes,that spoil the vineyard." This makes me think of our thoughts as foxes that need to be taken down and captured and brought into The Light of Christ and His words. Whatvever is true, what ever is lovely, what ever is pure... ..think on these things.🧡

How do you 'reparent' yourself after surviving childhood abuse and then being gaslit by your family? That's what being in God's family is about. He becomes your father, you become His daughter. It doesn't matter if 'they' don't believe the truth, because you know He already knows it! You realise you are never alone, feel safe and challenged in a pleasant way. You delight in Him and He delights in you. Nothing can compare. No wonder Jesus said in Luke 14:26, " "If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters--yes, even their own life--such a person cannot be my disciple." And of course that doesn't mean 'hate'in the fleshy sense, you love and forgive them, but in comparision, your love for God and your spiritual family in Christ simply becomes more important and you break or limit contact with toxic earthly family of origin.

Dear dr Cloud, you can eat all the soup you need, cos your words in this session are so precious! PS: I used snack during some lessons when I was teaching and a really long day :)

I love how the book The Confidence Gap talks about things that are helpful or workable vs things that are not workable. If it's something that isn't workable, it doesn't matter if it's factually true it just doesn't help me be the person I want to be.

The Lord showed me just yesterday that loving others and even Him has been easier than loving myself. I am learning to accept His unconditional love and grace in order to love myself.

It was amazing to hear this today. I am also going through an unhealthy living condition where I live, and I am just starting to reach out for outside help. This was so helpful for me, very much needed. Thank you, Paula and Dr. Cloud!

Soooo good. It’s hard but I see , speaking up and not accepting the judgements , but exposing and not believing the lies while not trying to fix other person but showing those taking advantage that I know my worth now. That God will use this struggle of not getting validation to bring Him glory and strengthen me. I must lean into Jesus not lean to make others caring. Not my job

2 Corinthians 10:5 English Standard Version (ESV) 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, The Bible tells us how to renew our mind by taking negative thoughts captive and renew our mind to the mind of Christ and think what He thinks of us and everyone else regardless of behavior, behavior is not who you are. I have seen with my own eyes how loving unlovable people has changed them and me more in the process. As we love or selves like Christ loves us we can love others. I did not believe God really loved me until 2015, at 45 yrs of age, when I truly believed He loved me, the.n I was able to love myself fully & others fully. That is where the rubber meets the road on how to love yourself, to truly believe that God loves you, good, bad and ugly. Do you believe God loves you is the answer. Yes, then be loving to yourself at all times and the Bible says what love looks like along with how God wants us to think. If we follow Him we will act like Him and love ourselves and others.

Really hit home for me when you said justice being able to claim it; without having to constantly having to defend a great many wrongs done to me and my children as if it was nothing or just to get over it😢
