I have the iPad Pro 5th generation along with the T7 shield . When I plug the drive in, the blue light lights up but powers down and cant access files on iPad . U know how to fix this?

Thanks for the video .I have a question that I could use help on. I purchased the T7 Shield. I transferred some videos I wanted to backup from my iPad Pro. The video transfer worked fine .I can see and play the video on my iPad with no issue. My problem…when I take a video and save it on the T7 it shows up as taking additional space in my files folder and photos app even after I disconnect the T7. So if I save a video that is 10GB to my T7 after I disconnect it from my iPad there is an additional 10 GB to my files folder and photos storage.I check the files folder for the video on the iPad I just down loaded and. It’s not there. I’m a novice when it comes to these things and I’m probably making some kind of rookie mistake but I can’t figure out what the hell im doing wrong. I stopped saving videos to the T7 right now because I am running out of space on my iPad.> Thanks for any help🙂.

Since my iPad 7th Gen shares the same iPadOS (6.2 or greater), I assume it should be just as compatible as your iPad Pro.

I have the same iPad as you with a lot of videos can I transfer those to the Samsung? Because I do go to my files and I can’t see them there. There’s actually just a few downloads that I did in the past but there’s no videos of mine on there.

Hey dude. I EXFAT’d my T7 shield on MacBook before I got my iPad Pro, would you happen to know if that’ll hold interconnectivity in IPad Os x Windows? Or should I reformat? Thanks!

Bought the 2TB at a discount. It is quick and reasonably priced as it can take a hit. Not cheap but worth considering.

Hi, did you notice usb-c on this SSD is not firmly plugged when you use the cable comparing to other USB-c ports (computer, smartphone, etc) ? You can remove it so easily that you need to be very cautious not to move the cable while transfering data. Don't know if it is mine or if it is common on the T7 Shield. Could you plus check yours pls ?

Hello, I just bought Samsung T7. I noticed a weird behavior when i copy my files from IPAD to T7 and unplug T7. Then I see the IPAD storage is getting full. I am not able to figure out from where the storage is getting full. Any solutions for this are really appreciated ❤

Cross my fingers knock on wood, But i myself can vouch for Samsungs T series SSD drives. Ive owned the T5, T7 and just purchased the newest T7 Shield 4GB. and ive been pleased with all. Gota say for me its not so much about speed as it is mainly for sure safe keeping in storage. Spinning hard drives will eventually fail on you loosing your data. PERIOD!!!. especially those smaller portable drives that are simply the worst. Going SSD is the way to go, chances of failure are greatly reduced, not eliminated but vastly reduced. And thus far ive had no complaints on samsungs products. just be sure to treat these drives with care, both in operation and in transport. And though i purchased the big boy 4TB shield (because i needed to back up and equally large capacity spinning hard drive) i would NOT recommend going too high in ssd capacity, why!? because the larger the drive the more you have to loose if something goes wrong. just as well, youl be using the drive more frequently due to more of your data being localized to that drive, increasing the risk of failure. better off purchasing more smaller drives and splitting up the data. so if one drive fails you dont loose everything.

I'm curious, can you connect it to your iphone (such as iphone 12,13) like with the T7 in your other video? :)

Hi! Thanks for your review! I have a question: Assume, I've a Samsung T7 Shield SSD APFS formatted on a MacBook Pro. Will this SSD read/writable on an iPad (ie. iPad Mini)? So, is there a common format type a SSD disk to make it read/writable on both MacBook Pro and iPad?

I do not know how you’re getting yours to show up. I have the IPad Pro 5th gen (M1) and neither my standard T7 nor my shield T7 (both are internally the same product) are showing up. Also, the power light on the ssds are steady, so I know they are getting power. Acccording to forums, the T7 is known to be dodgy and they recommend using T5 - which I don’t feel like wasting money on. Anyways, how did you get yours to read?

The M1 iPad Pro has some serious issues with the port/controller. I have tried multiple tests with Samsung T7 Touch & it’ll max out only around 250-400 MB/s ~ 2.5Gbps which is even less than older Gen’s 10Gbps limit. Ideally it should give a minimum ~1.4GB/s transfer speed. Apple has mislead & sold a defective device 😢

So why can't I connect with iPad. Works fine to Samsung phone and computer. Do I need to buy a new cord?

03:09 USB 3.2 Gen 2 does not have 10 GB/s transfer rate. It's 10 Gb/s about 1280 MB/s, close to the read/write speed of the SSD. Giga Byte and Giga bit are different units of measurement. 10 GB (Giga Bytes) is equivalent to roughly 80 Gb (Giga bits). Otherwise, great video.

Sir, if you are going to make a tutorial, why did you skip steps you clicked on the pictures and the documents but you didn’t show what to select next! Don’t assume a person know they wouldn’t be watching a tutorial if they did

2nd.. dont get into the habit of dropping and tossing ssd drives despite the claims of resistance. tossing your drive about only to loss your data, then later find yourselves angry that the drive wont work is due to your own stupidity, take precaution with your drives if you wish to keep your data.

Get to the point

If you’re using IOS / iPadOS this SSD is not the best option. There is no user interface, no password lock, and no way to know how much space is being used on the ssd after you’ve uploaded large sums of data/files. It’s basically a dumb storage box if used on Apple devices. Sensitive files will need to be encrypted before transferring onto this ssd. I’m disappointed 🥺😭
