Thanks for the look at old Penang. I spent the best part of a couple of years there at the turn of the century and seriously considering returning to make it home again, and glimpses like this are very much appreciated.

Hi! Expat community is quite big here, both for Australians and Japanese. Building a new network of friends is always challenging, but we have found it fairly easy through our son's school etc. so it would depend on your situation. Budget for living here can vary wildly, so difficult to comment.
