My comparison is more of a pass first Derrick Rose (pre injury of course). His athleticism, shot creation, and playmaking/leadership is what reminds me of Rose.
drose was, and still is, very unskilled. His game lacked fluidity and rhythm and he relied on his freakish athleticism that disappeared after the injuries. Ja appears much more fluid. He reminds me more of Donovan Mitchell only much smaller frame/build. Maybe a Fox DM hybrid?
@@thedimedrop8153 maaaan them brands that sponsor other basketball youtubers need to hit you up! you deserve to make some money off these do things at ya own pace tho mane 1 video or 10 we appreciate em
Eric Lorenzo - The Alabama mascot has a Patrick Star cutout that exemplifies a perfect reaction to the play that just occurred. Look where Ja slides after he dunks it.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! Always keep up with your channel and as much as I loved your Ringer videos, these scouting videos on YOUR channel are just golden! Aesthetic and information are always on point.
YES!! I was wondering if you'd come back this year. As for Morant, one thing that stands out to me about him is his ability to control the momentum of games. Huge
@@vjettas5241 Not just how he plays, because he's definitely a better playmaker, but I'm concerned that he's going to have injury problems too. If you watch him land, he lands on one straight leg alot like drose did and it caused him alot of problems.
He’s done well scoring for that level of competition, but the efficiency stats are there and worth noting. I do think the sample is significantly flawed because of the weight and gravity he carries in the Murray offense.
The thumb flick in a jump shot isn’t new, both Kerr and Miller both have said they shot pushing the ball with the off thumb. His shot release isn’t a worry to me. He gets good elevation and flick, just needs to get the elbows in a bit and he should be fine
I agree his physicality isn't ay Westbrook level... Yet. He has more instinct in playmaking as well. I would say Dame/Wall/Rose type. However I just worry for players like these in terms of injuries. They leave it all on the court and have so much fire that sometimes it ends badly. Hope the best for him
Please do a video on the people you think will go top 5 in the draft individually pleaseeeee. Also I think Ja can have longevity in the league as a starter/backup for a mid table team. His shot will come along and he’ll be a respectable shooter. What I feel he needs is a good in between game, some floaters and pull up j’s and he could be a pick and roll nightmare
Jah would be a perfect fit someplace like Memphis with a team full of high IQ defensive minded players that can create an easier transition into the NBA while still needing Morant to play to his strengths as a ball-dominant playmaker.
Hey could you do one about Larry Bird?! There’s a lot to talk about with Bird, his career is full of little stories that would work really well in your video format!
I still think the best comparison is young Dwyane Wade. Fast, athletic, spectacular guard with an unselfish mentality, good passing skills and a solid vision.
I really don't see him as a Rondo or Rubio. I know it makes sense but when I see his sensational driving ability on highlight tapes I feel like he looks like Kyrie. He looks like someone that could be a dynamic slashing scoring threat like Kyrie. Of course Kyrie is one of the most efficent acorers in the paint at PG ever. Ja doesn't have that level of efficiency, yet. The big difference is Ja is a real distributor unlike the combo guards we see staring in the league today. Kemba, Kyrie, Dame. Those guys are also near elite shooters from the NBA line. Ja isn't a good shooter now, the NBA line could make that worse. For me he is a strange prospect. Idk what his game will look like in the NBA.
High Echelon none of them are SG.........kyrie the only 1 you could possibly classify into a “SG” and that’s cause in Cleveland lebron was the main PG while kyrie was the scorer....
I see More of a Derrick Rose Type Player in Ja Morant! His Jumping Ability, His Ball Handling and Passing Skills have a D-Rose Type Skills Written All Over Him! Plus Russell doesn't Pass The Ball as Much!
Definitely my favorite video you’ve made so far. I really like the rondo comp, growing up in Kentucky/Louisville I saw almost every game of his in college & he was definitely bouncy. A comp that I have for Ja also is Baron Davis, thoughts?
Haven't heard someone make a Rajon comparison. I do think the Trae comparison is the most accurate. Also, thank you for shouting out Cowart. I have been all season,
Nah. Derrick Rose 2.0. He's going to have hella fucking injuries unless he learns control and to think about longevity. I see Derrick Rose all in this guy.
He seems like the kind of guy Phoenix at the very least is getting desperate for. *Someone who knows how to pass a basketball.* I know you don't want to hear the argument but Phoenix needs to do either some real thinking or money spending if they're gonna have that first pick. Last thing I want is Zion on a team where no one can or wants to get him the ball.
I think morant is most similar to Zach Lavine would suit him best to go to suns similar to lavine going to wolves have two premier scores around that clear up the paint for kick outs and easy drives to the basket for him
I compared him yo damien lillard if i spelled that right becuase they are both great athletes but not great top ends speed but he can also pass and has a great stroke for time to time
