Could multiple saved shots in the span of a few seconds be recorded as a total of over 1 xG? Even though the maximum possible goals that could come from that situation would be only 1 because 1 goal would result in a kickoff? Maybe some models would take this into account?
Each attempt would be given a score even if the the second is just a second or few seconds after the first. The combined xG of both shots could be above 1, but the would be recorded as separate attempts. It does bring up the point of needing to factor in many things such as GK position etc. (if they have just saved the first attempt). Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Do you have a link? At a guess I would say this could just be the equivalent of 0.186. As in, using a 0-100 scale instead of 0-1. So 18.6% chance of scoring? Not sure without looking though.
A score of 1.00 would suggest that it would result in a goal EVERY SINGLE time, so I'd say no. Maybe 0.99999 but theres always (even if so tiny) a chance that a shot doesn't result in a goal. Even if it was from 1cm out and no GK, if done enough times, I'd say someone would miss! I stand to be corrected though!... Thanks for the comment
