Expedition 61 Commander Luca Parmitano of ESA (European Space Agency), Soyuz commander Alexander Skvortsov of Roscosmos and NASA Flight Engineer Christina Koch were greeted in a traditional ceremony at the airport in Karaganda, Kazakhstan February 6, a few hours after landing in their Soyuz MS-13 spacecraft in Kazakhstan near the town of Dzhezkazgan. Koch completed a 328-day, 139-million mile mission on the orbital outpost --- the longest spaceflight ever conducted by a woman in history and the second longest single spaceflight by a U.S. astronaut. Parmitano and Skvortsov wrapped up a 201-day mission in space spanning 85.2 million miles.
After the ceremony, the crew split up, Koch and Parmitano boarding a NASA plane to fly to Cologne, Germany where ESA officials would greet Parmitano before Koch continued home to Houston, and Skvortsov boarding a Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center aircraft to return to his home in Star City, Russia. The footage includes an interview with Parmitano at the Karaganda airport.
