Expensive 3rd Service - Ford Freestyle | Cost Break Up | Ford Service Center Experience 

just after I took my Freestyle out of the service center after my 20K service, took it straight to a Shell petrol pump, drained the cheap quality mineral engine oil, and filled it up with Shell's full synthetic 5W40. They will charge you for the oil in the service as its "by the book" and they select the service package like 20K 30K 40K or whatever, they can't remove components from it otherwise they have to answer to Ford why oil was not changed in the service. Ultimately, you end up paying more for the oil of your choice (Mineral oil cost + Full synthetic oil cost). It doesn't matter to me though as Shell's oil is giving me good performance. For the 30K service I have to stop them from replacing the oil as Full synthetic oil lasts for 15K kms, still I will have to pay them the price for oil change. Or if it permits, do my service from outside.

I just bought freestyle flair petrol and it's a really fun car to drive. It's powerful n good ground clearance to drive in the hills. I'm glad I made the right choice .

Oil grades not only deal with temperature but also deals with viscosity high grade oil is thicker which means oil starvation on camshaft. Leading to wear and thicker may not flow easily to quickly lubricate instantaneously Btw I used 5W30 castrol magnatec which is fully synthetic

You have an option to say no to wheel balancing and alignment which you can do from outside at lower cost but you need to tell them well in advance not after they handover the invoice

Bro I completely agree what you're saying but the expectation you have is far more than may be a Merc or BMW service. I'm using Ford Figo and I used Maruti and Hyundai earlier....Ford Service is far better than any other company except VW or Skoda. Technicians are well trained most importantly.

Bro, every manufacturer would have servicing manual for their cars. How could they leave it to the mechanics!! The servicing process needs to be standarized. If it is not, the service center guys will just loot the customers and and then customers will only complaint. Not everyone is as knowledgeable as you. As far as other issues are concerned they always attend issues if customers point out at Ford.

Just curious to know, the organization for which you make videos, does it have more qualified engineers than Ford R&D?

Hai i have ford Aspire 2 service complete but I am not satisfied because they are not check and clean properly ex break cleaning just rust removal spray apply not open break drum and wheel. What's u r suggestions company service or private service....

I disagree, you have 10,000 kms service interval. And it is fine that you filters are fine till now and may be for more 5000 kms but about next 5k kms, when you reach for next service. You work for some car related organization not everyone out there gets vehicle checked at every 1k kms :P I get my wheel alignment checked at every servicing cause it is once in a year, cause it goes through a lot of pot holes in that period of time. The special thing about ford cars is their drivability and handling so better not take that away even a little bit. And 8K around of servicing you are terming it as "Expensive" not right buddy, this is less than a bike's servicing cost in that same period of time.
