@@tomsgefrankfurt6985 Every week 37 000+ in Lens. Just like many other teams in France an incredible atmosphere. And I am not even From France. The culture of groundhopping btw has nothing to do with division, but with everything around the field as much as the game itself.
I travel from Newcastle in Northern England regularly simply because Lens fans are the most welcoming and devoted fans I know. They are so fervent and every visit is a pleasure. Thanks for this video. Allez Lens! #northernlensois
Just for you to know a bit of the "lore" of the club. Lens is a town where like 90% of people living there was mining coal. Or you was working in the coal mine, or you had your father/brother/someone else who was mining coal. It's a big part of the town. It's history, it's culture is based on mining coal. The song you heard at half time is Pierre Bachelet's "Les corons" Corons were the neighborhood were miners lived in. The song talks about how it felt about growing there. Bachelet was not from Lens but people there felt the same as him. It became the hymn of the club and the entire region because Flandres, the North of France, was a big mining region back there. There's many people who relate deeply to the song. Lens is such an amazing experience.

let's have a see on the derby between Saint-Etienne and Lyon... it's a little bit the same story, coal vs textile. But since 2022, St Etienne are in L2 and Lyon still in L1. I saw 3 derby in St Etienne and WOW, OMG so intense !
But Saint-Étienne and Lyon are in the same region, the Rhone Derby. And the rivalry between Rennes and Nantes is called Brittany Derby, though they're in two different regions now, Nantes was a part of Brittany in history, so they still regard Rennes as their Derby Rival.

@@deusvult.92 Rennes les coins sont fermé donc c'est pas un stade a l'anglaise , Lorient pareil , Brest je sais pas trop comment le qualifier et leur nouveau stade prévu pour 2026 aura rien d'un stade a l'anglaise .. Après je connais pas tous vos stade mais du coup cite moi les fameux grands stades bretons a l'anglaise je dormirai moins con ce soir. bonne journée a toi l'ami !
@@deusvult.92 Oui le Roudourou est un stade a l'anglaise ! pour Brest je chambre ça ressemble a un stade a l'anglaise juste j'ai pas de bonne photo du stade! Soit pas désolé ou autre beaucoup de stade en France sont passé de stade a l'anglaise a stade 'olympique' pour moi un stade comme le Stade de France , Lille , Parc des princes , le nouveau stade de l'OL etc sont des stades juste fait pour une piste olympique pas pour le football.. Lyon leur meilleure ambiance c'est a Gerland , Saint-Étienne c'était mieux avant maintenant il y plus d'âme.. (c'est mon point de vue) seul le vélodrome reste un stade a part, de son architecture unique.. toujours de mon point de vue. L'échange est cool tout vas bien ;)
@@mdkfl1220 pour le sdf je suis d’accord c’est un stade d’athlétisme, par contre les autres faut pas exagérer. juste le stade OL le parcage par exemple t’as l’impression d’être à 10km de la pelouse, par contre Lille je trouve que ça va… par contre parc je suis pas d’accord, oui ça n’est pas un stade 100% foot mais l’architecture est incroyable et parfaite pour le bruit intérieur, c un des stades les plus atypiques du monde… par contre l’asse j’ai aucune idée de ce qui a changé donc je ne saurais dire

the reason why the derby is one of the biggest in france is also because history (also explain why RCL is so important in the area) so like manchester and liverpool in england, Lens and Artois (the region) had a huge place in the industriasation of its country, Lens was the center of the biggest coal mines in France for over a century, and the club itself was founded by the mining company of Lens. So while Lens was a very workers based city, Lille the close neigbor outside of the coal cities was the cities of the riches investor and bankers, so before football their was already tensions between the 2 class of people of those cities (you have the same story about Saint-Etienne and Lyon) that rivalry was transposed in football really fast and up to today Lille fans still has their "we're richer and less "chav" than you" attitude with us so all of that to say that it's not only a sport rivalry between us

Lille is the largest city in the region and is also known for the crisis in the years 1970 -1980 when the crisis in the metallurgy and textiles of the Lille Roubaix Tourcoing region. Stop making Lille pass for a bourgeois city. Arras is as much a rich city in your department but you have been focused on Lille since you no longer earn anything.

Had the chance to visit RC Lens couple of years ago, when they were still in Ligue2. The atmosphere was the same. Might have the second best support in France, just behind Marseille. Especially because the support comes from the region, not only the town which is very small. Would love to go back!
Ptdr marseille le stade est vide quand ils perdent, les deux meilleurs ambiances de france sont Lens et Saint etienne. C’est surcoté l’om et surtout plein de footix qui supportent des clubs etrangers en meme temps
Je suis supporter Lillois , aimant aller à bollaert de temp en temp. Content que le match t es plu. C est vrai que à Lens l ambiance est folle ! Mais notre jeu à Lille pour cette année est bien meilleurs . Tu as du le voir en deuxièmes mi temp . Bonne continuation à toi . Et allez Lille ⚪🔴
Content d'avoir vu un commentaire comme le tiens avec la rivalité Lens-Lille ! Mais sur le jeu je ne peux pas être d'accord avec toi... Lens est au dessus au niveau du jeu cette année et la preuve en montre le classement, rien ne se joue sur une mi-temps.
Après le classement , c est un tout . Je trouve notre jeu meilleur. Certes. Après on peut avoir le meilleur jeu, et ne pas savoir défendre... ce qui est un problème pour nous cette année malheureusement... En tout cas , je veux la C1 à lens l année prochaine !

I really appreciate how do you présent it. You're not the first one who do one, but one of the rarest who walk on the city. It's done, we are second in Ligue 1... just one point behind PSG (but not with the same budget) but in our heart, our club is number one !!! Next year we will probably receive one or more English teams. I hope you'll be there... Our state of mind is not the same as what you might find in Paris (no good memories, are they ?) ... Here, in Pas-de-Calais, we appreciate other cultures, we appreciate soccer, fair-play, and good game and if you come to Bollaert, at least you will remember it all your life, at the best you become a fan, forever 😄!!! I never feel it in another stadium in France but only at Bollaert... You're and you will be always welcome in Lens ! ALLEZ LENS !!!

Sache qu'ont et top 3 des meilleurs public de France derrière Paris et Marseille qui ont dix fois plus d'habitants que nous. Lens a un stade de 38000 place pour une population de 35000 habitants ! Et 30000 milles abonnés !!! Ont dit que Lens et le Liverpool de France !
