@@iAmPaulObelley Keep up your amazing work. Absolutely great editing and great content as always you never disappoint us.I have one question though. I am planning to use them near crowds and in school so I need to know if it leaks sound to the outside. Awsome editing as always great video quality. Keep up the majestic work my man
I love it how half way into the video I was like “it would be nice to have a comparison with the AirPods Pro for the transparency mode” and 5 second later there we have it! Amazing work!
this is the most entertaining and informative (at the same time) tech review i’ve ever watched. i don’t usually subscribe after watching one video but i did for you man. can’t wait until you’re one of the big techtubers
Only postive comments and people who are shocked by how underrated your content is. I very appreciate it :) Btw are you rich or something because how can you get your hands on so much tech? ;)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for your real world warts and all review, great to hear of the cons as well as the pros. Most reviews of the Sony WH-1000XM4 are gushing in their praise of these headphones. I have a cheap set of ANC headphones and noticed that I was getting a lot of wind sound and they didn't really cut down on voices of people talking in close proximity to me. No one else mentions wind sound or that all ANC headphones have these problems same as the cheap ones. I was about to pay €380 on a pair but having seen your review I've decided to keep my money, I tried out my own headphones while moving the lawn and was surprised that they were good at cutting out the sound of the mower. With ANC off I couldn't hear my music due to the loud engine but when I turned on the ANC I had no problem listening to my music. I thank you for your real world honest review with the bad points as well as the good points. I use mine for taking calls and haven't had any bad feedback about the quality of the calls on my €50 headphones. Like every bit of tech many reviewers seem to be fanboys of the product so do not give an unbiased review. Keep up the good work, I've just subscribed to you channel 👍
Perhaps the best noise-cancelling headphone review out there. I've never experienced a wireless headphone and had so many questions about it. This clears so many of them. Thank you.
Yeah, it's finally here! The review I've been waiting for. And it's excellent, as expected. Congrats again, I wish you the best. Maybe the next CES will have you there? Who knows... I hope so 🤭
Liked how you virtually put the headphones on us -cool and very original idea -would love for you to do a specific video putting xm4s through real world noise cancelling walk = dogs ,random car noises , bassey music from another room- the whole point of spending money like this is to have technology that keeps our headphone experience more immersive/ uninterrupted - so it would be cool to see a more real time /real world experience in cafes , malls ,next to a road etc etc
this is the first time i visit your channel and my jar is just dropped because of your cool edditing style. this is brilliant!! your channel will be more bigger soon.
XM4 Gang! Damn, your editing is on point, man. I love how quick-paced yet informative it is. Transitions and transformations are amazing too. I'd suggest you to dive a bit into technicalities like frequency responce and codec differences, but if your vids are purely consumer-oriented, then it's actually perfect. Viewer feedback aside, here are some product comments: * Hidden feature of xm3/xm4 is "doubletap-hold" on right cup. In my case it invokes google assistant even when "custom" button is taken by noise cancelling. You can also use it to turn on and off speak-to-chat without opening the app, but i didn't figure out how, just accidentally did it one time and then it switched to assistant. * Microphones on both XM3 and XM4 are actually quite good hardware-wise, yet sony's compression absolutely butchers it. It performs well in noisy environments though, tested it in a server room and got no complaints. * You don't even have to double-tap to go back from speak-to-chat, you can put 3 fingers on and off of a cup, it will switch to ambient and quickly back to playing music. I feel like it is unintended though. * When you do "2 devices", primary device is connected with AAC, but secondary device is always connected with some heavy compression which is only suitable for calls, not music and not even podcasts (you can listen but it won't be pleasant). * Default frequency responce is a bit "thicc", those are not flat headphones, they are bass-heavy and treble-reduced, although accurate around whole spectrum except maybe high treble. Situation is actually better with XM4 than with XM3, which were even boomier and muddier, according to soundguys review. With stock "bright" preset both of them sound much more detailed across the whole spectrum.
Unless you must have some of the new features I'd say no. They're nice and all new features are cool but spending another $350 just to replace the XM3 doesn't seem worth it.
Been bingwatching your videos. As all the viewers here, I praise your editing creativity. You don't need expensive gear, tech, or space to make excellent, neat, and quality videos. Thumbs up, man! You deserve much much more subs, just keep your hard work and the views and subs will come. Hopefully you won't get discourage about it and that you enjoy editing and recording videos. Watching your vids from Spain! Stay safe, bro!!
With the con you said about the fact that you can still hear the wind through the microphones even though you're in transparency mode, there has been a secret to it reported and not many have picked up on it, so don't feel you're the only one, Paul. In the 'Sound' section of the Headphones App, under Ambient Sound Control, open the section up with the down arrow and where it says Noise Cancelling (if it's set to it), with the slider, increase it by only one setting (I guess you can call it one click, don't know how to describe it) and then it should say 'Wind Noise Reduction'. Most people completely miss this feature so as I said, don't feel you're the only one man, because you're not.
Hey, so I was thinking about buying these bad boys for some time now. However, I am planning to use them near crowds and in school so I need to know if it leaks sound to the outside. Awsome editing as always great video quality. Keep up the majestic work my man
When I first put them on, it seemed to me that the sound quality is worse than that of my old headphones for $50. The next day I was shocked at how cool they sound. The surrounding sound in a transparent mode and when closing the right ear is different, what is the point of such implementation? But it's still little things, the headphones are very cool
best xm4 review! honest, useful info presented in an entertaining way. i'll be checking out your reviews in the future regarding headphones. i already own the airpod pros and was thinking of picking up the xm3s for office work. would you say that the xm3s block out more human voices compared to the airpod pros?
A very comprehensive review. Thank you! I need to regularly make calls so the XM4 is a no-go. Too bad as it is an otherwise excellent headset. I'm giving the Bose 700 a trial to see if it meets my needs. Keep up the good work!
@@hauksingstad-murphy9196 I didn't like the noise cancelling as compared to the Sony. The Sony seemed to cancel a wider range of tones (higher actually) then the Bose.
Amazing video man! Was waiting for it to drop! I just got the xm3 a month ago but was planning to return it due to a lot of creaking noise coming from the band's. Did yours also have the same problem? And it's there an airpods pro vs xm4 video coming?
Hello dude, which one do you consider to be the best color in terms of your experience with issues that can look dirty or scratch from use? thanks for such good material and quality in the videos!!
Man, I had the xm3s and then they broke. I had them since day one. Decided to buy the xm4s. The sound is much better on the xm4s. When it is wired it is even better on sound than the xm3s. I use them for gaming and music at home. Amazing.
I had to adjust settings in developer mode on my Android smartphone, because LDAC codec wasnt used automatically, but everytime I connect my headphones have to change LDAC audio playback settings to 660kbps..any option how to fix that to not do it over and over again?
Hey Paul, please can you review the Spacial Audio feature on the AirPods Pro? It works with iTune film, Apple TV+ etc and I'm loving it. Would love your opinion on it too :)
I am Poor AND Broke...so as I indicated on a previous video--I am waiting for the Black Friday(or whatever passes for Black Friday in the Covid 19 ERA)and grabbing a pair of Refurb XM3s but I still appreciated this video. ;-)
Hi bro, Do you know somthing about low volume issues ? I have tried the Sony wh-1000xm4 in a store and the volume seems like 70% at the maximum, and not louder then I expect
Hey, this is Siddharth from India, your review is so honest and just raw, hope I meet you someday in my life 😭😭 if you come to India please stay at my home ❤️
