OMG! I literally just took a bin of clothes from GW bins to clothes mentor and Plato's closet today. I got $53 between the 2 stores. I think the stuff in the bin was from 2 GW bins trips so the amount I got paid for at least paid for one of those trips to GW bins. The rest I'm putting on ebay and Posh. This was such a fun video and informative. I know better what to look for. I noticed that Clothes Mentor bought a lot of the popular name brand stuff. I forgot to take a pic of the receipt at Platos (crap!)

Great video! This pretty much confirms what I've suspected all along about the buyers at Plato's Closet and Style Encore. So far I've had good experiences at both stores, but I think part of that comes from learning how to set my expectations. I understand that they're going to be picky, and that the payout will be significantly less than the selling price. I have a friend who tried selling some clothes to SE and she was offended that they rejected everything even though it was all "perfectly good." I hated to point out that most of her stuff came from a store chain that closed down 5 years earlier. It's true what you said that many people get emotionally attached to their clothes. Fortunately as a reseller (mostly through Poshmark) I don't get attached in the same way. I sell through PC and SE if I want to thin out my inventory and flip some for quick cash. I go in with no expectations, so if I make money, it's all good. If not, oh well. At the end of the day, it's just business. BTW, love you guys! I've learned so much from your videos and you two are so fun to watch!

Why wouldn't someone totally launder stuff before they brought it in to sell??? I mean, smoke smell can be eliminated with laundering using specific products .. but the bigger issue is that they're bringing in unlaundered clothing ... yuck
