We need this done in our house. One bedroom is freezing, one is hot and the others are a little warm.

I would love to provide this service for my customers but unfortunately 90% of homes I go into have a finished basement with only a small equipment for the furnace and water heater. All the dampers and ductwork is covered up by drywall and or finished wood ceilings. Very few units I come across are in the attic were everything is open and easy to get to. You my friend do very good work. Keep the videos coming.
@AllEnemiesForeign_AndDomestic
Balancing the airflow is always a hard thing to troubleshoot and solve. I abandoned the flow hood and all that tho and just go with running the calculations my self cause every house is different you know it’s not cookie cutter. 244 sq. In. Per ton of surface area on your return will give you the 400 cfm per ton you need to balance. Start at the return cause you can only throw what you take in. Never use less than 16” return duct if you can afford and 4 and 5 tons take two returns and two furnace filters if existing. Good video I like it.

Nice job ! Dealing with this problem now in a two-year-old house. I was thinking about a booster fan but my AC guy said nine out of ten times it can be fixed with adjustments. The installer for the builder doesn't want to know anything about it. Great video.

By closing the dampers you are solving short term problems, but raising static pressure thus making the unit less efficient and killing the longevity.. using the flow hood is great, but need to add the use of a manometer to complete the process the correct way..

I think I have air leakage that needs to be fixed. I'm barely getting airflow in two rooms. I had an HVAC got I kmow come out after I found holes in flex duct that was put in after a tree hit the roof. He put on some tape, but more definitely needed to be done. The duct going to those rooms is pretty narrow also
@IamHimathy420

On that duct you connected i see you weren't concerned with duct tightness with all the other issues. Another satisfied customer.

Were you able to tell by feel that the damper was broken on the duct going to the kitchen? Like, could you feel less resistance turning the handle. Or is the only way to know to open up the duct and physically see that it was stuck in the almost closed position?
@WWHVAC
@WWHVAC 6 месяцев назад
Sometimes, I can tell if a damper is broken when it's really loose. Other times, I can't move the damper because it's stuck, and at other times, I just need to see it to determine its position or if it's broken.
