I'd recommend 'Gimme shelter' next, what a great groove. The studio version is a treat for the ears, with an iconic impassioned take featuring Merry Clayton, her backing vocals are stunning. There's a lyrics video in the same style as the one you just did (although there are some errors with some of the lines in both those videos) . Would also love to see your reactions to a live version of 'Gimme shelter' too. 'Live '95 with Lisa Fischer' has an exemptional performance with their long standing live backing singer taking the limelight halfway through and hitting some astounding notes.
Thanks for this reaction. The Rolling Stones are so iconic with so many amazing songs, it is definitely worth checking out. Try listening to - Sympathy for the Devil, Gimme Shelter, Can't You Hear me Knocking, for a start. There are seriously too many great songs to list.
So he lost his love and now his world has ended. Funeral cars and flowers. Seeing others turn away. Seeing other girls bringing memories back. Lost love never to come back.
I came to understand this song when my 17 year old son passed away…all my friends walked away…too hard to watch me grieve I guess…my heart is still black…I miss Chance something fierce. 🇨🇦🖖🏻😊
You guys should try the Stones Sympathy for the Devil, and 'Gimme Shelter'. The vocalist Merry Clayton, on Gimme Shelter is just unbelievable! It may be a Rolling Stones song, but it belongs to Merry.
Hi Guys! Would love to see you react to Rush- Working Man Live in Cleveland. Grew up listening to these amazing musicians....incredible how these guys rocked this hard at the age they were in this live performance. Rest in peace Neil Peart and my long departed "Brother" who loved Rush.☮❤
Those lyrics were wrong, at the end… ‘I wanna see it painted, painted black’ nothing about painting faces ‘I wanna see the sun, blotted out from the sky’ not ‘flying high in the sky’ Doesn’t really fit the mood of the song. 🤣 Great reactions. I’m working my way through your videos, and enjoying your work 😎
The Rolling Stones was a great band and Mick Jager's performances were on another level. I would suggest watching them live at least once. Here's a live performance to one of their popular songs "The Rolling Stones - It's Only Rocking Roll (But I Like It) - OFFICIAL PROMO" I'm in total agreement with your musical analysis, and what ya'll said about the massage of the lyrics. I lost two uncles in the Vietnam war. Sadly, until we stop warring against each other this song will always be relevant . Really enjoyed your reaction thanks for sharing ☮
Don’t get me wrong. I love the Stones and this song. But to be fair this song is from ‘66 and “I Want to Hold Your Hand” is from ‘64. In the fast paced Sixties two years of music evolution are worlds apart. Both bands were growing and changing. In 1966 the Beatles released “Revolver,” an album many consider to be better than Sgt. Pepper’s. That album featured “Eleanor Rigby.” And if you compared that to “I Want to Hold Your Hand” you would have to conclude that the Beatles’ sound and sophistication had also come a long way in 1966. But “Paint It Black” is one of my favorite early Stones recordings.
RIGHT, AND THE BEATLES BROKE UP 6 YEARS LATER. THE STONES ARE STILL MAKING RECORDS AND TOURING. "AND THE BEATLES STILL OUTSELL THEM EVERY YEAR" THE BEATLES HAVE SOLD OVER 1.3 BILLION!
no, those songs are separated by almost 3 years. While the Stones were doing Paint it Black the Beatles were doing Eleanor Rigby and Tomorrow Never Knows.
Awesome concert my top 5 lead guitarists are Jimi Hendrix Eddie Van Halen Angus Young Jimmy Page and Joe Satarani. These 5 are the ones I listened to back in the day .
@@thisisitreactions Although stylistically very different, thematically there is an echo with Amy Winehouse and Back To Black. Funereal and, in life and untimely death, ultimately tragic.
Long ago (and I mean over 30 years!), I read a paper while I was at university that suggested this song was a visceral, emotional reaction to JFK's assassination. I still think that paper, whoever wrote it (I can't remember), was on to something!
Loved this fellas! You should for sure check out some more Stones! "Sympathy for the Devil", "Gimme Shelter", "Tumbling Dice", "Brown Sugar", "Can't you hear me knocking", "Midnight Rambler" ... Take your pick :)
Seen them in concert in Ames iowa in late 80's, excellent outdoor concert. They hsd a fifty foot blow up doll on the stage. Never forget it, won 4 tickets on the radio.
