Just had a interview today which went well. I have to say, experience is the best teacher you may not want to learn from. It would be great to get the job you want on the first try but unlikely. It relaxes me to think I'm interviewing the employer also, after all I am providing a service they need and are willing to pay for. Q's like - What do you hate about this type of work or what did you dislike about your last boss are hard to answer.

Don't think of the interview as 'Why they would like to know if you are good enough for them', but as 'Is this company and job what I'm looking for? (are they good enough for me)'. This attitude makes you look a lot more confident and confidence is key in everything. Don't get arrogant though.

It is certainly becoming harder and harder to find the right person for a job. Everything can be learned, including passing an interview. This of course still doesn't guaranty the company that they found the right man/or woman either. The great thing is that experience teaches the interviewer to be able to recognise if the interest comes from the website and the books only or if it also comes from the heart.

I think that this hit a key point of people never really learn how to interview. There's a lot more than what's here, but it's a good start. What do you do about the others who have heard the same advice quite a few times. Create a larger distance between you and the next candidate!

I was going to say something on the same lines. These days trust in the interviewer is an issue as some have become nicely fickle and then I always feel too much eye contact is awkward. It needs looking into cause these days the integrity is missing more.

If you you don't know you are getting the job, then you are not getting the job. Sounds easy. Keep asking this to yourself. Be very objective here. Good Luck! I offer lots of unconventional interviewing tips that is not offered in this video. One tip: Gamify the interviewing process.

I found this video to be so generalized and cliched that it's basically useless. It also seems like they are saying that the only way to get a job is to be extraverted and extremely comfortable talking to people which is not the case for a huge percentage of the population. So what are people who are a little awkward, or shy not deserving of jobs? This fascination our society has with personality over substance and skill is the part of the reason why incompetence runs rampant.
