Expert Class: One of the most interesting forms of martial arts is Apache Knife Fighting. This video, hosted by 2018 Martial Arts History Museum Hall of Famer Robert Redfeather, is an exciting demonstration of knife fighting. Robert was kind enough to show us a number of his moves that you might enjoy.

Red, your grandfather would be proud of you. My gut feeling, regarding your promise to her, is she approves of your teaching. You are vary careful to teach respect for life, not just the fighting part of it. I love the simple elegance of the Apache Knife System.

Very cool... I learned karate as a youth; I can see similar footwork and arm actions. I was taught that fighting with a weapon is the same as fighting with an open hand. I love that "Raven" incorporates a feint, because the raven is a tricky bird.

I paused at 1:45 to make fhis comment. I'm excited cause I watched the video intro and the few movements depicted and then heard at 1:45 the instructor saw "we move and cut," and know already this is a sound system. I look forward to exploring more and seeing what I can take from it. Thanks!

We learned a knife fight style in basic. I don’t remember anything about it but I wander some of it came from this style. I also learned a combat style of judo.

I'm familiar with blocking an oncoming attack in the form of cutting the hand, every move whether it's a strike or a block should he designed to further weaken your aponent And each cut will do just that You'll find that after 2 or 3 cuts the assailant will lose the desire to fight further By blocking their strike by cutting the hand and again by the elbow, your assailants full time job at that point will be to stem the blood flow and stop it from getting worse which means he'll have to stop fighting

That's supposed to be American Indian martial. If that even still. Because of what the white man did to the Indians how much of their martial art is is actually left that's legitimate. Too much dancing, little control on the attackig nife hand. Looks like sword fight. For sport and history its ok. If there are several attakers, there is no time nor space for this.
