I don’t believe it😱 Omega didn’t fu_k it up for once. It’s gorgeous in every way. It’s even got the Omega logo etched on the sapphire crystal to make it look like an old hesalite crystal. Now fix that dog of a Seamaster and start turning Omega back on course to where it belongs.
@@DanielDahl-i9p that’s the one 😂 I even bought one myself but it’s been six years and it’s definitely time for a more refined version with less weight and maybe go back to a 41mm and back to a slimmer case.
i have a 321 and love this new release. I love the 321 for many reasons, including the story of the man it's named after. The 321 movement, dial, and history outshine this new model. I would like to get this new release though. Maybe put it on the strap and wear it when i dont want to bang up the 321. its not a 321 killer... its a fine watch, but it isnt an Ed White
I own a 321 and when I first seen the new FOIS I thought it was a half price 321 but it didn’t even have a clear case back and ceramic bezel. The ceramic bezels to me make a big difference because coincidentally my favourite Speedmasters are Snoopy, 321 and full yellow gold Speedmaster all with ceramic bezels.
I had the new speedy pro and loved it. I’d say it was the most comfortable watch I’ve ever owned. The only thing that would stop me from saying that it was the perfect watch was the fact I couldn’t jump in the ocean with it. This model is killer but my wrist is at 7.5 so I would need a 41mm to pull it off 😢
As you introduced yourself a speedy Expert .. the 321 Caliber is on another level .. For Die Hard Collectors rather than a mass produced yet Beautiful watch ... if I may ask do you own a 321 Caliber ??
he calls this a 321 killer because he flubbed his own 321 purchase. his omega dealer called him to pick it up the 321 but he threw a temper tantrum and refused the watch so now he lives with regret and is grasping onto anything that helps him sleep at night about his 321 debacle.
@albundy3929 You get What you pay for ... 300 dollars for a Swatch speedy 7K for this new release 17 K for a 321 Cal. Non of them are similar ... I'm a Proud 321 owner and saw the new release believe me it's way way way far from the Steel Ed White from all prospective
Just hoping the dial colour won't be an issue . A shiny blue sunburst can sometimes look a bit too bling or even plasticky compared to the classic matte black on a Speedy. . So I'm not sure about this one yet. Need to see in person
This is an awesome release. Much restraint used in the design. Can't wait to see that shade of blue on the dial in person. I'm glad they went with the color of lume to match the old tritium.
Absolutely love the dial on this watch. Thanks for sharing. I loved the Speedy 57 because of the brown contrast look. This one carries the same look and feel beautifully.
Honestly, it’s misguided to call it a 321 killer. This new release is absolutely fantastic, no question about it. The 321 is also fantastic, with no doubt. It features a completely different movement, is hand-built, has a ceramic bezel, a sapphire back, and is made in ridiculously small numbers, making it somewhat of a modern time capsule. This new watch will be a mass-produced alternative aimed at a broader audience. I own a 321 and I still want this new one. Singer Porsches are not 911 killers; in fact, they are the opposite. They are accelerants for the 911. Similarly, the 321 is an accelerant for this new watch but will always capture the enthusiasts’ attention. It is too reductive to call this a 321 killer.
Its lovely, we can add it to the other 5 million speedmaster variants. If you are looking for a speedmaster, good luck choosing. However, I may have to try it on.🙈😁🙈
Been waiting for something like this, my father and grandfather had a moonwatch but with a bracelet like this that now my youngest brother has. Love the pre moon case design and size, hands and bracelet. Will definitely be getting this as a nice memory for the 20th anniversary of my father and grandfather’s passing. Omega really nailed it.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the AMZWATCH, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
Buy it Brendan ! I’ve got the 2020 olympics blue dial speedy - love it but the bracelet is too chunky (wear it on a leather) and the non hacking movement bugs me. This watch looks a beauty.
The 321 is special because of its particular construction, and also because it has an open heart. It is a collector's piece worthy of a display case where you can show off that spectacular movement and be able to see it whenever you want. But this new FOIS, in my opinion, looks better. In short, and my opinion is that the 321 is a beautiful display case watch, and the FOIS is a beautiful watch to wear on your wrist and check the time every 5 minutes. Also, I think that the 321 will be available to buy at any time, and this new FOIS will not be available for a long time and within everyone's reach.
What a beauty ! It looks beautiful indeed and you may be right as to its proposition vs the recent Ed White and other "recent" 321s or other modern Speedies. However, as a 1960s 321 owner, I can tell you that the 1960s 321s - to me - are untouchable, as some of us precisely want it because it was made the year we were born, or the decade we were born. The question whether a 2024 piece is better or nicer is irrelevant. Some of us, for sentimental reasons, need the piece made back then.
I was a fan of the previous FOIS, but didn’t like the fact it was a leather strap only watch. This completely changes everything - bracelet looks fantastic
The smaller case size should be due to the exclusion of crown and pusher guards. Should wear about the same, I have a 6.5" wrist but pulling off the speedy pro is no issue with the lug to lug below 50mm. I love this except the faux patina lume... btw whats the material for the bezel insert?
@@BrendanBoswell yeh man anniversary.yeh mate that trump is just why?? But it is in most part down to being around rappers and all these RU-vid dkheads that "sell" high end watches to. got more money than marble's and they givin trump these stupidity priced watches as gifts but off course hes like I can can do better than than so called big boys ye know like AP.Then i can save a few dollars and just give the dkheads my dkhead bad boy watch as gifts back ahah fightfightfight,
Kinda regret selling my previous FOIS now 😂 beautiful watch, but for over 7k, I still can't justify spending that much on that...maybe I just need to save up more 😅
Omega has done the work to put this fois to somewhere between smp and 321 ed white. This is not the 321 killer and won't be. Not talking about the caliber, the dial is sun burst dial in dark blue with faux patina lume doesn't look beautiful as smp or 321. The alpha hand is another problem, the second hand is invisble at some angles due to sapphire crystal reflection this inherited from previous fois. The case back is also close. To me it is cooked half way or did that on purpose. If the case back is close why not have the hesalite crystal and it will be pure vintage recreation and it also solved the second hand issue
This is a great release by Omega but the 321 is the 321. It’s a beautifully finished and historic movement for the price. That said, this watch is half the price and has a functionally superior movement but mechanical watches are jewelry so not sure how far that argument will go. At double the price, I think Omega is going to seriously have a hard time selling the Ed White over this.
The Ed white isn’t full blown fauxtina. This one looks more fauxtina, almost like the 60th anniversary watch. It’s great to see the FOIS back. Calling it a Ed White killer is misinformed.
Hi Brendan it's a nice looking watch but you must like losing money if you buy omega at retail. As you have advised before wait six months and buy it at least a third less than retail on the used market. Thanks John 👍
@@heisenbergguy7772 hi well you must really like omega but the facts are the facts if you really want to troll me you know nothing about me and my watch collecting habits so jog on.
The type of watch enthusiast that is buying/waiting for the 321 is not going to buy this new model instead. There are important reasons for the difference in price. The 321 is as close to a bespoke piece that Omega offers. Once again you don't really know what you're talking about.
That is a beauty, just when I was done with watches, omega draw me back in. This will go great with my snoopy. My only criticism, i wish it was an open caseback, why hide that beauty. I would definitely change the caseback if one is available.
Mate you know i trust your judgement Yo AMEGA and it's marketing department the best at teasing us,and teasing us then they go "boom"oh yeh like we haven't been listening all this time to what you the customer wants
Brendan .I've never had a omega and I like this one.Still a bit out of my price range tbh.could I get a new one but 2nd hand for saying £4kish.please let me know, willing to wait if needed.Cheers Brendan 😁
I bought this popular video watch from MAMACOO , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!
This FOIS 2024 will cannibalize sales of standard 3861 Speedmaster, not Ed White 321. Perhaps the standard 3861 is no longer in demand , hence this reiteration of ‘FOIS’ with a standard Speedmaster 3861 movement. Nothing special about this FOIS 2024.
It's a lovely watch, but I find it weird that we celebrate the first Omega in space. The first watch in space was the Breitling Navitimer Ref. 809. The first watch in open space was the Strela. And the first watch on the moon was the Omega Speedmaster. But why celebrate the first watch from a specific brand in space? Are we to do that for all brands of watches that have been in space?
The other brands you refer to going in space weren't official NASA partners. Meaning they didn't go thru any special testing to be used in space. It is a bragging right and any other brand selected in the same way would be talking about it.
@@miabeatz80The thing is, the first Omega in space, which this watch commemorates, had no affiliation with NASA when it first went to space. It was only afterwards that the partnership was formed. Heck Omega didn’t even know it was going to space until after it happened.
@@thedalebury I get your point but that watch is still part of the legacy. How is that any different from Rolex calling their watch the Daytona, as if it's the first or official timekeeper for the race. Both partnerships are similar and nobody would scoff at any pieces coming from either collaboration. It's like saying there should be no value in a Michael Jordan rookie card since he didn't win a championship his first year lol.
No, you’ve been shitting all over Omega, Brendan 😂. We can buy it on the used market next year and save 35% but you can’t because you said never again 😂
Your much better of buying one older earlier hand made omegas, these are all robot made and assembled they cost Omega $5/unit. Where as the originals are hand made and assembled you pay for what you get.
@@BrendanBoswell yeh man im playing the loooooong game, spend all on takeaways,im joking by the way before i get daft comments from the comments police.lovin the channel just found you on RU-vid shorts brother
Come on Breny, speedmaster 42mm works fine even on small wrist even better if you ask me than this. The tiny 19mm width makes a tiny wrist even more feminin. Thanks man for your videos 👏
I love everything about this piece except for the fauxtina, that might be a dealbreaker. Why bother with it? It’s just gimmicky on a high end expensive watch like this.
Omega is always holding back on something or other … never the whole package … in any case won’t do so well … only for those who want to own a blast from the past when there are so many nicer buys out there … rather dull to me haha
