Here's a walkthrough the wide range of things that the General CV can do from Expert Sleepers. Os takes us through chords, sound layering, working with chords and inversions, running audio rate drum sounds for a tearing wavetable(ish) kind of sound. Very cool from the show floor at Sound On Sound magazine's Synthfest 2017.

I think many people will (and have since the Superbooth announcement) at the idea of a general MIDI sound-set in eurorack but the things you can do with it really bring a new character and sound to the format.

I think that Os had explained it as being more of a source of some base sounds that you can proceed to CV the crap out of and come up with new sounds and textures. I'm just thinking that this module could effectively replace my Qu-Bit Chord since that function is built-in with all of the different voices, right?

Not sure to be honest. I don't know if you'll have the CV over chord voice control that you get on the Qu-Bit. Maybe you do, I just haven't had chance to delve in. But yeah of course CV over these sounds for the first time, still run them through filters/shapers etc.

Trawled the manual but can't get the answer I'm after. Any idea if using the midi breakout, this accept multiple midi notes in to use General CV as a polyphonic synthesizer?

Pretty cool. I recently picked it up used on Reverb for a fair price, I guess the previous owner didn't find much use for it. I'm hoping this will replace my very old Alesis nanobass for GM, and integrate with my eurorack. I already use Disting for most effects (also bought used for cheap).

it's nice to find a bargain and with the brief play I've had with the General CV it's nice to put those sounds into a new context with other modular processing and control around them.

DivKidVideo ;) hey man you might dig this vid/track I just made, it's a mostly generative patch made with Plonk, BIA, Furthrrrr and Mother 32 as the main voices... (And the vid was done with Blender) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kl3h4MNgQKE.html (When I make music that I'm happy w with the modules I already have it makes the GAS go down just a touch so theres that upside too ;))
